wherever the money is
would love to see cndlebox live, love far behind

Watched them at watertown as well and then went out with Kevin and Adam after the gig which was cool. They are touring again next year and there is talks of some european gigs so keep an eye out.
Funny thing about the St Janis gig was that Kevin dedicated the lovers to us which is one of his Hiwatts bands songs

Best would definately be Above & Beyond; Kellys, Portrush

Runners up:
Paul van Dyk; Shane's Castle, Antrim
John O'Callaghan; Tivoli Theatre
Ferry Corsten, Shane's Castle

May have to revise this as I'm seeing Armin van Buuren in the Kings Hall and Mauro Picotto in Tripod before the years out.

Er... the thread is about gigs, not discos.

Er... the thread is about gigs, not discos.

A "disco" is something held in a provincial town, played at by some DJ with a funny made up name, and attended by the local Miss Piggy lookalikes, and men with stripey polo necks; and dodgy shoes worn solely to get in as Airmax are banned.

All of those are "gigs" to the same level that anything else mentioned on this thread is. If your music snobbery or a limited knowledge of the music scene refuses to let you accept that, so be it.

The biggest difference, however, is that a "disco" is said DJ with a funny made up name playing vinyl, CDs, or dodgy downloads off a laptop. Each and every one of these events had live performances.

How does someone playing a few 12 inches doesn't constitute a live performance?

Uuum, let's think.

Oh yep, Led Zep. punk:

Seconded

Also enjoyed FBS & David Guetta & (for about the first hour and a half) The Cuban Brothers.

Oh, and The Mighty Diamonds at Komedia were ancient and gorgeous. Attila could do a lot worse than pay tribute to The Mighty Diamonds by playing their finest hit at Withdean. Title: 'I Need A Roof (Over My Head)'.

Quality, not quantity innit

Has to be Muse at Wembley Stadium but run close by Arcade Fire at Brixton and Ally Pally.

Other highlights were The Killers at the Brighton Centre (Brandon was in tune that night!) and the Fratellis at The Troubadour in LA.

Been a good year on the gig front!

Ha! Thanks for the lesson, kid.

Funnily enough, I saw Picotto play before he released his first record (when you were still in shorts).

I've been clubbing all around the world.

I've worked for Mixmag and Muzik (in fact, I was interviewed for the job of editor of the latter).

Cheers.

PS You'll grow out of cheesy trance in a few years - most people do.

That reads like the whos who of DJs Id run through Fire to avoid the displeasure of having to endure. Shocking stuff.
