She achieved something that Coe and Ovett couldn't.
A double in middle distance running is extremely rare. Or is it because it was a women's race?

did i mention that at all?

is tg thompson not a woman?

Yes Tanni is a woman and has won the same race several times (as Pinsent) but you seemed to dismiss Kelly as a joke. I wondered why.

i did not dimiss her as a joke at all-
Pinsent
4 olympics 4 golds world champion about 9 times euro champion about 12 times

thompson has won a lot of golds at olympic and world championships plus a number of other championships at most distances

kelly holmes has not really achieved anything close to that- what she did was fantastic though and i didnt say it wasnt

MBE stands for Member of the Order of the British Empire. It is one "rank" below OBE -- which stands for Officer of the Order of the British Empire.

Basically if you're an OBE you get to sit next to the eldest son of a Baronet at one of the Queen's dinners. If you're a lowly MBE, you have to pick scraps off the floor underneath Phil the Greek's chair.

All a complete load of bollocks-especially as there is no British Empire anymore and hasn't been for donkeys' years...

All of this 'services to' nonsense-isn't a hefty bank balance and a mansion in the country not enough for doing your job well?
