How so? Not all films put it on a plate for you. The 60s and 70s had many many films that required a bit of work from the viewer to fill in all the gaps. And the gaps were not necessarily linear.

There was just to many gaps in my opinion, I enjoyed the film but it just seamed weird till I read the book.
