Not fair to assume that at all. Firstly, we don't know he has turned them down, secondly Manchester Utd have a HUGE squad and release lots of players every year, a vast majority of which end up in the lower leagues.

He wouldnt be training with us as a favour from our staff just because we are playing in the north- we will be looking at him and, by accepting our offer of a trial, he will be consider any offer we make him.

ps - how could he have turned us down? we aren't allowed to do deals, he was set packing for impersonating a footballer.
I thought you had Mullen on trial as well?

certainly did. i believe he has a deal waiting for him at leeds once we're allowed to do such things and he wanted to stay (along wtih leon who has now got an injury and will be out for a good few months - think you guys were interested there as well?) but obviously we only have about eleven days for our screwed up situation to sort itself out and the lad has just brought his own house, own mortgage etc and can't expect him to wait around forever and so that was that.

be a good signing, bit sulky and arsey but i wouldn't complaint too loudly if he came back to us.

Presumably he's bought a house 'oop North'?

As for Constantine - he must be feeling a bit of a tit. He turned down firm offers to wait around for a Leeds offer that they weren't in a position to give him. Now he's a crock and on no-one's payroll. Presumably he'll have to pay his own medical bills and will now be on no income at all until he's fit enough to present himself for a trial somewhere in a few months time.

not sure where the house is to be honest, but i know it was one of the main reasons he couldn't afford to wait around. he left us before we went to germany and the main reason being he couldn't afford to wait around.

i feel bad for leon, he is a good lad, wanted to stay and now it looks like he'll end up with nothing. last i heard he could be out for 5 months. that said, wise definitely wants him to stay and i wouldn't be surprised if the truth has been fabricated a little there. which is just dumb because tick tock the time is running out.

You never know.

Maybe league 1 is too much of a step down from what he is used to....no sign of championship clubs in that list I see?? Maybe he's holding out for bigger club in the championship?

But you never know...Sometimes its all about the welcome and the vibe he gets when he's training and heres hoping he's mates with mcshane who would no doubt have sung our praises..were a good club to use for a season or 2 as a stepping stone...

f*** me, we actually agree on something!:D
very good point

In Championship Manager you could always guarantee picking up a player on a free from Manchester United would instantly be a hit in your lower league team.

I say GO FOR IT
