I don't get it.

Don't get what?The point the guy is making is that £25 seems an awful lot of dosh to replace each lost S.T.
The background information is just that.Obviously a faithful long distance fan,short on cash and feeling aggrieved that the club he follows appears to be exploiting him after the unfortunate occurrence he has suffered

If you explained the full circumstances to the club, and they still said no, I think that's pretty poor of them TBH.

Ahhh bugger. Well I'd suggest you follow the advice of others on here and see what you can do as it seems a bit of waste. Is there no way you could claim on your household insurance? I know my policy covers cash up to a certain amount (£200 I think) and I'm sure the club would give you a receipt for the replacement. You'd obviously still have to pay your excess though.

Going back to my original question should someone decide that they didn't want to go any more are they entitled just to cancel their direct debit or does it work similar to a mobile phone contract and you have to see it out until the end of the term?

Because I always bring my wallet from Devon with me. Just makes sense I suppose

I think when thi has been discussed on here before, the concensus was that we have entered into a contract that covers the entire season, regardless of the fact that we are given the opportunity to pay it off in installments. They could in theory come after you for the full amount. Whether they would actually do so, is of course, another matter.

Yes they will, if the OP does what he is suggesting, and spites himself by refusing to get his cards replaced. They can't re-sell them - they are his - paid for up front.

Ticket office phonecalls are luck of the draw. Often it depends on who you talk to, and if they know what they are talking about. A different staff member will tell you something different. Worth trying again I'd say.

i would write personally to someone senior at the club and i am fairly certain they will respond appropriately. This is still an open and friendly club - just need to let your problem be known to the right person.

Fair point, and I agree it's too much money to replace them but as this is not exactly a secret I keep mine in a separate pocket and never with me on non-match days.

Paul, I’ve just seen this on North Stand Chat. I can’t believe that the club would do this in these circumstances. Please tell me this will be sorted! Cheers John
