hello there nsc, long time reader, first time poster.

i heard somewhere you can get a b&h citysaver for £2 if you buy it on a bus at the station. is this right? not advertised on the b&h site but it sounds like it might be a better idea than the train now that there's this ridiculous queueing system in place.

There is a £2 plusbus ticket available if you are travelling to and from the train station to go to/come back from a train journey. A regular citysaver ticket bought from the driver costs £4.

No, it's different to PlusBus. There is a sign advertising it on the little kiosk at the front of the station.

Is it for the daytrippers to get from the station down to the seafront and back again on the number 77 ?

I believe it's targeted at day-trippers but the ticket you get is a regular all day saver.

On the B&H Buses website they mention a tourist fare of £1 (single journey) so a £2 daysaver would for the majority of daytrippers equate to a return ticket.

I wish I knew about that in August when I was down on holiday for a fortnight  I had bought a 7 day saver online but needed it from Sun to Sat (Donny game) so forked out £3.50 for a daysaver to use on the first day of our holiday

It possibly wasn't running then, it's a relatively new thing. It says you need to show your train ticket to the driver but don't think you do, if they insist just say the barrier at the station swallowed it.

According to Brighton & Hove Buses you can buy a £4 all-day SAVER ticket for just £2 if you board at Brighton Station AND show a valid train ticket. However I have heard people get on the bus and say "I had a single and the ticket barrier swallowed it" so worth a try!

It was running during the summer , I've just listened to a podcast on the B&H Buses website which mentions this promotion. As we used the barriers at Brighton station it kept the tickets as they were the outgoing journey so next time it means going through the gate and waving the tickets at the guard.

It's not just 25/25a but 28's & 29's also, and they are limited stop so should be quicker.

The 49 goes withing walkable distance, as does the 24 but don't get the 49a, goes somewhere else completly.

if you`re a season ticketholder just show that to the driver. You dont need a voucher if you have a season ticket on Brighton and Hove buses. Otherwise savers are just £2.00 from Brighton station. You dont have to show your train ticket. You can also get a saver which runs on the 25, 23, 28 and 29 for £2.50 which can be purchased anywhere within brighton & Hove on these rouotes
