£2.20 - is that a lot of money for a bus journey?

What is a night bus ???
I'm assuming these are buses that run through the night? do they allow drunk people to board them?
Details are here:- Brighton Hove Bus and Coach Company

Seven routes run on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Two routes (the N7 and N25) run all through the night, seven nights a week - at half hourly intervals.

As for drunks ... most routes start at Wetherspoons, in West Street which, I'm sure, like all of the outlets in the area, is an establishment dedicated to responsible drinking.

I think that the yearly and 3 monthly passes do work out at exellent value, for example a year is £450 - £1.23 a day. But it seems to me that the occasional traveller or someone on a low income does get penalised.

As someone has mentioned it would be alot easier for me if they used the oyster paying system as i need to get a bus on Friday then all next week (Mon - Fri) so have to top my keycard up with a single then a weekly one, would be much easier for me to just top-up say £20.

Just slightly off topic, I have to go to Winchester on Saturday and the cheapest return rail fare I found was just under £27.00 HOWEVER, if I buy a Southern Saver ticket from a B&H bus it gives me my train fare PLUS my local B&H bus fare for just £14.00.

Looks a bargain, am I reading it right?

A Southern SAVER allows:-
•Unlimited travel for a day on every Brighton & Hove bus in the CitySAVER area +
•One day return journey on a Southern Railway train (but not before 10am on Mondays to Fridays nor returning from Victoria, London Bridge or Clapham Junction between 4.45pm and 7.15pm on Mondays to Fridays).

The key bit is "a Southern Railway train". Southern will only get you as far as Eastleigh (and back). You can buy a day return ticket from Eastleigh to Winchester for £4.00 return, though - making the total cost £18.00. Despite it being a South West train, Eastleigh - Winchester tickets can be bought from the Southern website.

Thanks Lord B. I thought it was too good to be true and did check it ut at the station where I was told I could go as far as Southampton & £6.00 from there, but Eastleigh looks better.
