3G pitch. Interesting stuff. Having said that, I suspect that 3G pitches will be allowed in the football league in a couple of years time.

Edit : Just seen on Wiki that it is 3,000. 2 to 1 in our favour then!

Not sure but there local clubs to each other would think they will play Ashford also, but there will be bad blood with that.

I don't get this 3G stuff ... I play on a new 3G facility midweek and it scratches you up if you slide about.

It's beautiful to play on, but my legs are covered in nasty grazes and scabs

Fair play to them, I grew up just outside of Maidstone and just about remember being taken to a Maidstone game by my Dad. Luckily we moved down to West Sussex and my Albion adventure then started back in 1982.......I am getting old.

Depends on the quality of the pitch. Some of the top spec ones are amazing. Soft, fast and require minimal maintenance. The one I occasionally play of at Lilleshall National Sports Centre is lovely.

There is another one I play on, that is just a rough, scratchy, sand-pit. It does really depend on the quality (expense) of the facility.

Short journey if you are driving, two hours on the train.
