Wonder how Root would feel about Stokes finishing it off with a succession of boundaries leaving him short of his Ton?

England need 7 from 12 balls... single off the last ball from Stokes, again... Joe Root 98* is not on strike

Joe Root 102* (96 balls, 9 fours) :clap2:

Classy knock from the Test captain, showing his value in the pyjama game.

I know England are motoring at the moment but think the bookies have got the in play betting incorrect
After all this will be a record chase and England currently 4/9 and West Indies 7/4
Obviously want England to win but lay England at those odds all day long

Hope you didn't lose your shirt. :)

That was England's record ever ODI run chase and they made it look easy. This is a remarkable batting side.

Bumble was saying the Friday game is likely to be another run fest, as it's being played on the pitch adjacent to the one used for this match. I'm starting to feel a bit of sympathy for bowlers in forms other than test cricket.

This is all very frustrating isn't it? I know it's almost an entirely different game now, I know the pitches are set-up for runs, I know the fielding restrictions are different, i realise that it's different players, a different mindset etc etc, but ffs, why can we not bat anything like that in the long form? 360 odd runs for 4 wickets, in under 50 overs and we can barely score triple figures as a whole team in test matches!! Our one day teams break record after record after record. Barely even a mention of Roy's SIXTY ball hundred.
