Big moment.. Woakes is caught

222-7 (44.1 overs)

44.1 Sipamla to Woakes, OUT, full length, in the slot, punched on the up, and Sipamla has his maiden wicket! Woakes gave himself some room, but couldn't get the elevation. Mid-off pouches, and a very fine partnership is broken!

CR Woakes c Miller b Sipamla 40 (42b 2x4 0x6) SR: 95.23

91 runs for the 7th wicket... has got England back in with at least a sniff

Joe Denly caught on the fence for 87 (103 balls, 6 fours, 2 sixes) :clap2:

He has given England a chance here... from 131-6 he has led the way to a decent total.

I can’t see this being an easy total to chase, such a slow pitch difficult to get it away. Getting De Kock out early will be key, shouldn’t be too difficult... :lolol:

England 258-8 (50 overs, RR5.16)

Denly 87 and Woakes 40 the only significant contributions.

An interesting chase in prospect.

Not a bad score in the end. Springy, slow pitch. Be interesting to see how it goes under lights.

Theoretically you’d think Woakes, S Curran and even Parkinson should go pretty well bowling on this pitch, even T Curran with his variations.

This, get rid of the skipper early and we can attack both ends of the wicket. This is a very defendable score on this wicket.

Woakes STRIKES :clap2:

Found a bit of bounce from this lifeless wicket, and Hendricks was over-ambitious with the drive and edged it to YJB.

25-1 (7 overs)

Roots captaincy during the test series was very good, but I’m not entirely sure what on Earth he is doing here, strange field placings allowing easy 1&2’s and bowling himself again, chucking down pies!
