Yeah, those EU medics are shite, like that Danish bloke who saved my baby son's life.

I am very pleased that Danish bloke saved your son's life. Are you saying that a non-EU bloke couldn't do it?And where have I said they are shite? The point was about spoken English, not medical excellence.

No you can't. Stop speaking tosh. Everyone knew what staying in the EU would entail, not much different than what we'd experienced over the last forty years (beyond how it had evolved). No-one knew what the 'glorious future' outside the EU would be like, not least because nobody had anything to be held accountable to, and one of the campaigns had a deliberate strategy of saying different -- and often contradictory -- things to different constituencies.

Tosh yourself, just semantics from different perspectives. Are you trying to say Remain told the truth about everything?

Incorrect.
Nurses trained outside of the UK must also meet the English language standards set by the NMC. This can be demonstrated:

by successfully completing a language test such as an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) achieving a minimum overall level of 7 (from 5 December 2018, although, a minimum overall level of 7 is required, a level 6.5 in writing will be accepted alongside a level 7 in reading, listening and speaking), or the Occupational English Test (OET) at level B.

through evidence that their pre-registration nursing programme was taught and examined in English and that at least 50 per cent of the programme involved clinical interaction using English

https://www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/explore-roles/nursing/information-overseas-nurses

Nurses trained in the EEA
Nurses who trained in the EEA must also meet the standards of the NMC before they can be considered for registration. The NMC will compare the training in your country with that required in the UK.

Following the recognition of qualification, and before entry to the register, all applicants are required to supply evidence that they have the necessary knowledge of English. Communication is defined as speaking, reading, listening and writing.

Read more information about EEA registration on the NMC website.

Nurses who trained in the EEA who are not EEA nationals may be required to undertake one or both parts of the application process above.

Like I posted.Requirements have changed recently.Wonder why?

As the whole point of holding a second referendum (see new eligibility criteria)* is to try and reverse the first one, break with Uk democratic norms of enacting democratic results and ignore 17.4 million voters, perhaps the options should just be ..

Remain/Remain

*Your vote counts double if you have any of the following criteria

Subscribers To the Guardian

Live in metropolitan areas and house price above £300,000. No renters or social housing types.

You may think that, I couldn't possibly comment

I admire your restraint.

When you have finished with it, may I borrow it? I have some folk in mind I'd like to restrain.

Have you got kids Harry?

The fact is that you put up with the immature tantrums because you know what is going to happen in the end, and that the tantrums and any reaction to them make no real difference in the big picture

If I was you I wouldn't be hanging around on here just now. Not when there's contracts going for all those lorry parks at all the ports for your 'no deal' Brexit ?

You don't want those 'lazy foreigners' to get the contracts, do you?

The male Spanish nurse who cared for my Mum in the RSCH was brilliant. He was on the ball with all her medication, and took the time to explain everything to me.

Lucky you, the nurse i recently had during an extensive heart check up had an appalling level of English comprehension. Fine at reading pre written questions on a form and putting a tick in a box, but no comprehension of the wider answers i was giving on the problems i was experiencing. I asked her to call her superior and explained i wanted her replaced because her English was so poor. I was expecting an argument but just received a shrug and a "sorry, i know" from her superior and she was replaced with someone who knew what the patient was explaining to them.

No deal. Spend the 39 billion on something useful ie NHS. Do a deal with the WTO. Sit back and wait for the German motor industry do a number on Merkel and hey presto we're trading with them, followed hastily by the French with their cars and wine and hoite couture. Then the Spanish hotel owners will demand that the EU allow us Brits to holiday on the Costa's. The list is endless, it's only the blinkered remainer that can't see that everything will be rosy. We're British for Christ's sake we've weathered worse. Stiff upper lip, upwards and onwards. Sits back and wait for the bike to be spouted forth at such an idea. Are you suggesting that immigration may be the reason behind your leave vote ???

You do know we've tried to do a deal 'with the WTO' over the last 4 months and what's happened, do you?

Yes. My lad (now 32) never had tantrums. The nipper has some bedtime issues. But you'tre right, all the wind and bowhardery is irrelevant. It will be what it will be.

And I'm pretty confident that the square peg will never be thrust into the round hole.

I remember all the smug brexextremists gloating a year or so. 'Dry your eyes'; '**** off to Tuscany with your copy of the Guardian'; 'you lost - ha ha'.

But Brexit won't happen. They simply don't understand that nobody but a lunatic would agree to hard Brexit, and no lunatic will agree to a soft Brexit. Ergo, we cannot Brexit.

My kids are good. There are a few faces out there I'd be happy to slap, however. But...there is no need.....they will soon be arrested after they have burned down the Pakistani news agents, and stolen a Polish plumber's van....

They accuse us of not accepting a democratic vote, then threaten civil unrest if their willy doesn't get its way.

Oh well.....back to watching the Arsenal game...

Not party to this conversation ('prancing ninny' is on ignore) but is this by any chance a 'mock the rich liberal remainer' circle-jerk? Good luck with that. Sixteen million ponces with second homes is your enemy? In your dreams. And, in fairness, hardly any Brexit supporters are knuckle dragging morons, so please don't imagine I am quid pro quoing you.
