Here we go again,

As the thread titile says, at 1 minute past 8 tonight, the space shuttle DISCOVERY will hurtle over Brighton STUCK on the side of the space station

You'll see it first in the WSW and it'll be travelling towards ESE

Its clouding over a bit though. Might be a non-event.

Like how aircraft look at night (same size / speed) but it won't be flashing. A constant white light.

You can always look out for satelites any clear night, although, light polution in towns sometimes makes them harder to see. Usually see quite a few of a starry night.

Woo hoo, Spaceships, I love 'em.

You can always look out for satelites any clear night, although, light polution in towns sometimes makes them harder to see. Usually see quite a few of a starry night.

You can look for 'iridium flares' which are when satellites tilt and catch the sun for a moment giving off a big flash of light (2-3 secs) before tilting back.

There are tables of these things so you know when & where to look. How they work them out I don't know? I've managed to see a few but its quite hit & miss.

The space shuttle is more reliable viewing!

possibly, its going through a period of passes over Brighton between 7.45 & 8ish so yes, you probably did see it!

Yes, they are polite spacemen and will always give a wave back.

If any attractive ladies flash their tits, they sometimes do a 'Top Gun' barrell roll

Nah, just lay back on a sun lounger, with a cold one, turn out ALL the lights and look skywards. You'll be spotting them in no time

yes, the earlier pass was better this evening. It's always better just before dawn or just after dark when the setting / rising sun is illuminating. It went out of view quite quickly here in BN2
