mong, spazz, Spanner (used to call my brother spanner a lot) Divvie, cretin,

I got called Deacon at school for a while, as did quite a few people, but being a Joe made it all the easier !

Halcyon days

When I don't like something I still occasionally describe it as "spannerific". Nobody seems to know what I'm on about - but then I guess that's the case with everything else I say, so no change there then.

This has highlighted the fact that I do still talk playground trash.
Some absolute classics:- gaylord, virgin (although the presence of children would disprove that), plum, knob, bum chum etc, are all used on an almost weekly basis.

What does that say about me!!.

I wonder how that started?

Memories of a whole English class rubbing their chins at some story the teacher was telling. :lolol:

Abosolute classic!

I was going to mention this one.

'itchy chin', or 'jimmy hill' was regularly used.

Marvellous Scenes

Way out west
Pringle, used in the Storrington area in the early 80's, think it was meant to refer to someone who might have gone to George Pringle school in Durrington.

An extension of the chin thing was this statement of incredulity when someone was telling porkies:

"Yeah, chinny reckon!..."

I also liked it when someone did something a bit feeble:

"Oh, effort!"
