Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Arrived at 6.45, ordered 4 burgers behind the bar £12.50 each paid the £50, catering manager came out about 20 mins later to say couldn't do the burgers as they'd run out of them in 1901 East (although at 6.45 there weren't that many people in the lounge), she then backtracked even further and said the member of staff, a young man to which English is not his mother tongue should never have taken our order in the first place, gave us our money back and then in her defence gave us a complimentary pie each.
Half time long queue at the bar with only two staff, one being the aforementioned foreign student, working behind the jump.

This is the Albion and to a degree we have to accept it warts and all, but the empty seats around us caused by the lack of renewals tell a story in itself.
That's a very first world crisis.

Seems like a very common catering problem which they then dealt with by offering a free alternative - I personally would file this one under 'These Things Happen.' If it kept happening then I'd reconsider 1901 membership.

Whether or not the bar staff have English as a first language isn't important. They have enough to take orders, and that's all you need.

But I agree entirely that there should be more staff on in general.

Agenda springs to mind

Not really.

That's what he said, Mrs H doesn't share my unconditional love of the Albion, so when she tells me how much it costs each month I'd like to think we are getting good value, unfortunately at the moment we aren't in the 1901 East.

Ironically Harty Junior said the food and service over in the West was probably the best its been this year, so maybe things will improve.

You got a free pie, plus were dealt with by the catering manager, after a minor mistake. What else did you want her to do after she had apologised? Polish your shoes? Drive to McDonalds and pick you up a Big Mac?

I have now spent two of my three catering vouchers issued I think by way of an apology for the shocking start to the season. To matches, seven three pies, three waters and only 20p spent. Lovely stuff.

Only one voucher left now, but once spent won't be buying anything else.

The tea coffee serving now charged is like the Marie Celeste in our lounge. But hey ho free pies have been very welcome.

Only an Albion supporter can moan about getting four free pies at a game !

Having not yet ventured into the realms of the 1901 club.
How the hell can they charge £12.50 for a burger?
I may be moaning a bit here, but are the burgers bespoke made to the customers requirements?

I'll be sticking to my home made sandwiches thank you.:)

Brighton
Hove dogs, meal deal with free admission.
So here's my idea. Firstly take out two of every three rows of seats. Replace one row with tables and keep the other clear for waiters. Lay on a set menu of chicken, ribs & chips. Next is 'all you can drink' beer, wine and cola. finally get 22 blokes to kick a ball around to entertain us.

Burger, chips and slaw. Still overpriced but there are no kiosk style food options other than pies.

Cheers for that.
I guess Mrs Miggins won't be opening an outlet soon :)
Going by coach means that I get there too late to chance ordering food but the two times I have tried it mean it would be a last resort anyway. Chips in a little metal basket and burger on a bit of wood. Lunchtime kickoffs are a pain in 1901 if you don't like pies - I had the greasiest sausage roll ever once. No option for a quick burger or hotdog.
