So it was early on. They tried the buffet to give three choices of food, but think they found this created to much waste. I have eaten a virtually every match, and although a mixed bag of food & service I enjoy every visit and our little group always have a great trip out. Our lounge is upstairs so cant comment on downstairs. More than happy with my deal:falmer:

Did you buy your seat very very early on, giving you the Platinum upstairs lounge?

How did the bloke know that Spurs had equalised. Do they pipe Sky Sports news into the 1901 area?

Why do people feel the need to punctuate their points with 'that is all?'

That is all.

Went in an exec box today. I believe the food is same as the bupa lounge. It was excellent, tasted great and superb desserts too. If it is the same I would think it is worth 35gbp . There were a lot of fans in the boxes and loved joining in the southern end of wsl singing.

Pie at half time wasn't a piglets one I think. Chicken and gammon and a bit smaller. Nice cheese board after the game. Very well done by the club / azure.

Thought the north stand sounded loud and that was with us being at the southern end. Excellent atmosphere.

That's some calorific and fat intake, in just a few hours. :lolol:

All this criticism of the 1901 by non members completely fails to mirror my experience in the Profile lounge. The food is now good as is the service, we have a table in the window so can watch the pitch, our seats are fantastic, most of the people in there are fans including such luminaries as Herr T and Superphil. I am happy as are the rest of my table and the table next door.

No, got 4 seats in March. In Gold Lifestyle Renault Lounge. I love the lounge, the staff, my seats and every visit.

Have attended tons of Corperate events and have always found food & service very mixed. Goes with the territory. Its all about the Match for me!

Yep in 5 hours; 3 ales, prawn cocktail, chicken in Bacon with bourbon sauce plus mash and veg, chocolate torte, bag of toffee bon bons, two coffees, pie and cheeseboard. And I seriously could have hadc more desserts or drink if I wanted it! Probably best hospitality since goodwood.

Should see you through to supper, in about an hours time. :lolol:

The torte sounds nice. I love chocolate.

1901 members have told me that the pre-match meal is a £35 rip off for a buffet, and will never do it again.

Are also disappointed that as Gold members that have to go to souless lounges downstairs and are unable to see action behind glass whilst having a drink on a cold day.
When they signed up for the 5 years, they didn't realise that only a tiny number (Platinums) get to see the pitch from their lounge.
Immensely disappointed.

Well I'm sorry to swear, but whoever you spoke to are clearly a bunch of f***ing DICKHEADS.

On my 1901 visit in the east the 3 course meal I had was perfectly acceptable, the restaurant area is exactly what you'd expect inside a new stadium ie spacious, clean and modern (if this is "soulless" then what were they expecting, an oak tavern ?), and you can't watch the game from inside behind glass whilst drinking because its against the frigging LAW.

I suggest your 1901 friends either get a new club, or a lobotomy.

Yeah SSN is available in ALL 1901 lounges. You know I think he had something called an Iphone, or some such thing.

That is all.

Thanks HB&B, am aware of devices known as Iphones. First part of my post was a serious question. Not having been in the 1901 section, I wasn't sure whether it was like a series of executive boxes, or just close to some of the more sumptuous catering and lounges. It sounds like a good place to be, but like every part of the ground I' sure there are pluses and minuses?

I walked into the East 1901 by accident looking for the East Brasserie after the game. What a soul-less, depressing experience. Many had probably never been to an Albion game before the Amex. Thankfully the opening of the Brasserie to be a bar afterwards was superb and was able to watch the Reading game in warmth and comfort amongst the other fans.

Perhaps you could enlighten me as to what time this was, because being one of the last to leave our lounge I don't recognise the place you are describing.
Are you a bit upset because you were asked to leave the lounge, as you weren't supposed to be there in the first place?

No, not at all. I can only speak as i find. A very corporate experience, but each to their own.

I was quite at home in the East Stand brasserie. A nice atmosphere, pint and the late kick off.

I've jumped up at Old Trafford watching a champions league game when the Albion scored. Frankly if there are people who like football cingular through the gates and paying even if they are not Albion fans great.

Have they really paid that much for armrests, complimentary coffee, and souless lounges downstairs?? :lolol:
Sorry, not all 1901 members are plastic fans, yes there are a few,the same as any stand but some of us want a bit of comfort now,I paid for my seat which no one can walk in front of me,I have plenty of leg room, yes I get my coffee, free programme and free League and F.A cup matches at the Amex,I get priority on tickets for all away games...I have attended every match at the Amex and have missed one home game since 1996,including the Gillingham years. The main plastics come from the firms who have corporate seats available to their customers. I guess it's how you value your comfort.Fair play to all you fans who like to be in the crowd in the stands...but have done my share....ALBION.

No point trying to justify ourselves to people anymore. Let's face it, if anything we're more of fans than them. We pay more money to watch our team. We're basically paying their Sky subscription for the concourses and it's because of u everyone has a nice padded seat, so they should express their eternal gratitude to the 1901 Elite.

Never had too much of a problem in 1901 for me - not ideal going downstairs to the lounge but the location is great and its a nice touch being warm and not having to queue too much to use the loo/get a pint/get a pie. I pride myself on not being a 'plastic', more that this is the first time i've been able to get to see the albion in a long time so i try to make the most of it, whether i am in 1901 or anywhere else in the ground.
The one thing that does annoy me is the large portion (around me) that f*** off with a few minutes of the 1st half to go to get inside early, then dont appear for another 5 minutes into the second half...i know they're free to do what they want, but would you do that in a theatre or a cinema? Probably not.
