So, do we have a complete non-story here?

1. People ate the food and said it was good?

2. People who eat at a Harvester might knock the price, but in a decent foodie pub, restaurant or sporting hospitality venue it sounds about right to me.

The name gives it away
I thought this was last nights options, according to the 1901 Pre-Match Brief email.

Theatre Dish £12.50
Beef Burrito
Strips of beef cooked with onions, peppers, tomato & chilli, served in a floured
tortilla with crisp lettuce, grated cheese sour cream & salsa
Served alongside a crunchy slaw and tortilla chips

Dish of the day
Fisherman’s Pie
£14.50
Chunky pieces of cod, haddock & salmon in a dill & white wine sauce with a
glazed potato topping served with crusty baguette slices

Vegetable Lasagne (v)
£12.50
Layered Mediterranean vegetables
cooked with tomatoes, basil and chilli
Served with crusty baguette slices

So I'm guessing your picture is the Fishermans Pie

Yes they now offer different menus in the lounges. We didn't have the fish pie option but had the sausage and mash instead.

I think you're reading too much into some harmless fun. There's no agenda.

Yes all right there was some bits of leek in the mash. I think it was described as bubble and squeek although my thoughts were it was too much bubble and not enough squeek. Don't know where you got £14 from. It was definately £12.50 in the Baxter Wynn Mayo lounge and I have the receipt to prove it.

This was from the Overline and it was marketed as bubble and squeak. £14 was paid.

Ah, I see, well that was the only menu shown on the email sent out.

They seem to be charging different prices now for the same food in different lounges. Don't know what you got for your extra £1.50 but it looks the same as mine.

The food and drink pricing in general seems to be a bit hit and miss at the moment. There were some dishes for 12.5 on the menu so maybe someone got them muddled up?

I think your find that the e-mail now being sent did in fact show different menus for different lounges. Think they only started this for this season.

Ah, OK, I thought Herr Tubthumper was in the Overline Lounge. My email gave a link only to that menu, I didn't actually look to see what food they had.

No agenda? You're having a laugh. If there was no agenda then why did you call it 'swill'?

For comedic value. I agree I did give it a mildly negative slant but I'm not trying to ram home any particular point.

I heard that Kemy ate two of these before playing last night.

Crap Town
Toad in the hole (made with Lincolnshire sausages) with champ and onion gravy, £12.99

3 Lincolnshire sausages, Mash potato topped with onions, 1 Yorkshire pudding, covered in onion gravy all for about £6 ???

Sorry Not sure what the green bits are in the mash Peas maybe ???

Silly me I put what it should cost not what Barber thins it should cost so double it £12

Lincolnshire sausages (proper ones made in Lincolnshire) look nothing like that. The picture suggests a generic catering sausage.

If someone could be bothered to trawl back through your various 1901 food posts over the last three years, do you believe they'd think the same?

Here is the swill from last night's game. A virtual pat on the back to the first person who can name all the items. And what do you reckon the cost is?

brought in yorkie 9p,3 pork and leef sos 39p x3 ,one portion of buttered(maybe)mash potato 30p and red wine and onion gravy with cheap wine and red onions 35p=food cost 1.91
