Quite sad at the mo.....I knew this day was going to come......but i didn't want to believe it....... The 'Prawn sandwiches brigade' have just arrived at Brighton.

So I take it we will be like wembley, not arriving until 3mins before kick-off and half the stands emptying at half time. Then not filling up again until mid way thru the second half

Do you think atmosphere would be aloud in, in that section..........Emirates and Stamford Bridge does spring to mind......probably not

The family, once again has been taken out to be replaced by the rich or co-operate who can just write that off under the heading 'entertainment'....good luck to you.

Its the same as the tours being done.........are the fans having a look in or is it just the ones who can afford it or the co-operate customers invited.
It appears we are only interested in those now. You've done your marches, signed your petitions etc......your not needed now, so run along.......(until something major happens-god forbid)then we will be required again.

Me I prefer my footie as it should be....enjoyed by 'the every man in the street'.

Sorry it's just how i feel
Kindly wind your neck in - those of us going for Gold seats are commiting to either 5 years or life ownership of a seat. That means every game or you lose money. This is not a corporate thing where people with no interest in the football sit eating the fabled 'prawn sandwiches'. This is people who have decided to treat themselves to the best seats in the stadium and the ability to have a drink or meal in a nice lounge every so often. 1200 seats have been sold and I'm not even sure that non ST holders can apply yet meaning 1200 people who have been at Withdean regularly.

Besides the fact that the club have promised hard hat tours in the autumn for people seeking to buy a ST, the fact that there will be superb facilities and viewing angles for all 22500 seats just makes your 'arguments' pathetic whining.

Don't get the "Prawn Sandwich Brigade" in the corperate boxes confused with ordinary fans who want a bit of luxury by going for platinum and gold seats.

There IS quite clearly a difference between some NSC posters going gold or platinum, and some corperation reps being sent to a match with two teams they dont even know playing and still getting priority for A band aways.

And the fact that the sale of corporate boxes and 1901 seats has raised £7 million so far. I can understand the away priority being contentious but any other accusations are completely unfounded. I am far from a "wealthy" fan - in fact, I am being made redundant in September. But I took the decision that as Brighton is my only real vice and because I had the debenture fee available at the moment, that I could just about justify the expense to get a guaranteed front row seat in the middle tier for the rest of my life if I so choose. I am not sure why I should have to defend this choice to anyone.

Besides which, I would venture that these "dedicated away followers" spend a lot more than £76 a month going to every away game. Most of them enjoy a drinking day out with their mates. I enjoyed that when I was in my twenties but a settled homelife means that a good compromise is every home game and a couple of away games a season. For that, I am prepared to pay extra for comfort.

that's not on. good luck to those who want to splash out on the best seats, and i think it should be noted that it looks like the majority of the people purchasing them are proper long-term fans who just fancy some comfort, nothing wrong with that, but i'm not sure away ticket priority should be based on wealth.

It always has been , on an unofficial basis , all the club are doing is making it official.

As I understand it, all platinum seats (Which are now sold out) were bought by either existing ST holders or existing hospitality clients. I stand to be corrected but I think that is right.

I am a South Stand STH currently, and will be a standard STH at Falmer, and I can assure you, you are probably the only person who feels this way. As mentioned these people are coming for the comfort, view and services available. To claim these people are not like you and me is damn right arrogant.

I would definatly not begrudge you, as a fan who has followed us during Withdean paying for the right to good away game priority with your seat but a corperation suddenly being "dedicated fans of the Albion" getting 4 reps who won the tickets in an office sweepstake and support teams like Chelski or Liverpool getting prioroity over me would be a farce.

If it is however as you say, then fair enough i'll pipe down

My Brother in Law has had an invitation. :tantrum:
He's never been to any football match of any sort in his life. He is also not that keen on the new Stadium, due to football hooliganism and the future traffic congestion in Woodingdean.
He's going to do the tour though just because he's nosey. He's also attempting to get my Sister on the Tour, who also agrees with the above. Plus she's always moaning that she can't park her Merc outside The Esporta Gym because the car park is full Albion Players cars.
I'm afraid money became more important than the football when the minimum wage ended, then got worse when Murdoch invented the modern game.

Dont get me wrong, I just dont want the club turning into another 'Arsenal' or 'Chelsea' that is all.

If in the 1st season the packages sell like hot cakes which they are doing. In the next season I dont want the club thinking ....hang on we can sell a few more of these...slowly, slowly more more of the ground is being eaten up.Then before we know it the prices go up for a normal seat because of demand.

Im sure there are 'real' fans purchasing these packages, I respect you all.

If i have offended anyone then I am sorry......but as said these are only my thoughts....if you dont like to make any atmosphere as im sure you wont be able to sing or swear.....thats fine

A small amount of that is inevitable at any club and will presumably apply to the executive boxes at Falmer. And a number of the platinum seats will have been bought by companies to entertain their guests but this again is inevitable. However, at least these companies have previous associations with the club which is about as good as you can hope for.

Oh obviously, i guess it shows that i've not got money behind me when i saw the pricing and thought "Jesus, mega corperations are only going to be the one's able to afford this" :lolol:

Won't happen. End of.

Luxury seats near the boxes aren't going to be able to be put all over the ground, so quit worry like.

Sorry but this is bull mate. These luxury seats are key in our finances, as has already been said we have taken 7+ million alone from these seats, presumably you are saying we'd be better off without that dosh? Every team has a prawn sandwich brigade, you will just notice it more at falmer because there are thousands more luxury seats than at the Withers. The luxury seats won't effect the atmosphere, fact.

As for your comment about not wanting us to become like Arsenal and Chelsea...:lolol: :lolol:

no not at all.....I welcome money ...silly not too....just wondered where all the money was when we wanted it...in the bad times......now the sun is out, so do the wallets...funny that.
How many would of taken it up at withdean if it was offered, I know the hospitality would never be the same but money is money and the club would of liked abit of that then.

And priority for 'A' rated away games.

I couldn't care less about the seats, that is a part of modern football (and I probably would if I had a spare grand banging around) but giving priority for away games in that way is outrageous, there's 1,500 platinum/gold seats? That was 1/3 our allocation at Villa? ... my figures might be horribly wrong there but it does come out like something like that...doesn't it? So what about the other 10k+? season ticket holders at Falmer. We have to scrabble around for the last 3,000 despite being no less fans.

Rubbish.

This.

I know many ordinairy season ticket holders from Withdean who have decided to upgrade to the 1901 seats, and there is nothing 'corporate' about them whatsoever*

*apart from the VAT added to their monthly package price

...and someone has to pay for the stand. We would be insane not to make the most out of corporates and of course, there is room for "everyman" in the whole of the rest of the ground. Frankly, get real.

PS No, I can't afford one but I'm happy to look over to the Platinum and Gold seats and thank them for subsidising mine in the East Stand.

It always has been , on an unofficial basis , all the club are doing is making it official.

how has it? more information please.
the club have used a variety of priority systems for the big cup games in recent years, west ham, spurs, villa etc, but most involved season tickets (all types, under 19s, oaps, top end seats) holders all getting first dips. you didn't get to apply first if your season ticket cost more
