According to the marketing team jeans will be allowed. Will be interesting to see if a Brighton shirt is effectively banned in it's own stadium!!

When I attended the presentation we asked if there was a dress code. They said what we were wearing would be fine. For the record I was wearing jeans, t-shirt and trainers. Replica shirts would not be permitted except possibly for children.

The no football shirts rule didn't put me off as I never wear one, but I can see how some people may not be happy with this. If there was a no trainers or jeans rule it would have definitely put me off.

I also specifically asked that question. The 'dress-code' won't be as per a golf-club.
So ... what exactly IS the dress code?

It would seem that the marketing team have said that jeans are OK, Albion shirts are not.

I'm having a genuine problem in trying to understand the phrase "helping to create an atmosphere of understated elegance" that appears on the Club website. To say nothing about how "understated elegance" contributes to anything that I recognise as a good atmosphere for watching football.

So am I what the f*** is an atmosphere of understated elegance at a football match ?

It is a day to watch and support your team and let of steam at the referee and wear what you want - this really is getting rather silly now.

I would not read too much into this line. It's probably some nonsense written by the PR people. I asked explicitly about dress-code and as long as you dont have holes in your jeans or wear a football shirt you'll be fine.

No football shirts, except on kids I think. Jeans and trainers allowed as long as there are not scruffy.

Another awkward question ...

If EVERYONE who buys a gold or platinum ticket turns up and wants the sit-down pre-match meal, are there enough tables to go round?

I dont think so. But the restaurant needs to be booked in advance....so there will not be any problems on the day.

To be honest, this is not much of an attraction for me. I'll probably use it a few times esp as the first game will be very close to my birthday but it will not be a regular feature of my match day. I tend to just have a pre-match tea these days...and get trollied afterwards.

I shouldn't worry about that Ed. There aren't even enough TRAINS to go round.

I'm not worried. Like Beach Hut, I'm not intending to go gold or platinum.

I'm just curious as to whether those who have bought the premium tickets are worried. The Gold Club dining area has capacity for 500 dining or 650 buffet style; the Platinum Lounge capacity is 450 dining or 560 buffet style.

That doesn't seem to be enough.

Further, I might be wrong but I believe platinum and gold have different facilities.

It should be quite funny in a few years going to Falmer as fans will clearly be tagged according to their status, if this folly of a pub ever gets sorted what type of fan should you be to be allowed in or maybe they create another season ticket type ?

Also if you are a Platinum / Gold member and want to visit this fans pub will there be specific male and female changing rooms available where you can put your BHAFC shirt on and also lockers to store that smart shirt you wore earlier ?

It's just like any other restaurant. If it's full it's full.

Sorry, but this is now so far beyond pathetic it's not true.

Let the 1901 Club do their thing and the rest of us do ours.

Everybody wins

But if you are paying extra for access to the restaurant, you are going to be pretty peeved if you can't get a meal.

Part of the package includes a meal before the game does it not?
