I am in the service industry and it sounds like your Ryanair type of staffing. Cheap labour. Cheap labour doesn't work in restaurants and high end service, but does in McDonalds and Burger King. Its just that if you pay someone minimum wage and work them hard you get 2 things happen. 1 they just don't give a shit because they are paid poorly and usually managed poorly by inexperienced managers. Therefore if they lose the job they don't care too much.
or 2. They don't turn up and just jack it in or call in sick.
If you pay a little more for your staff you can recruit those that have a little more experience and professionalism, thus getting a better service.
Its not always the case and there are exceptions to the rule, but generally this is true. Unfortunately a company like Azure that is paid to provide a service by BHAFC, is trying to maximise their profit margin by employing cheap staff and cutting corners. The problem will come for Azure when they 1901 club takings start to fall as a result, then BHAFC will look to another company to host. Its a shame but this is happening in all lines of the service industry these days.
Pay peanuts, get monkeys....or in this case a 19yr old that doesn't give a shit or is disorganised and inexperienced.

Where do you spend your time eating? The places I go to are generally run by very nice staff. In fact I could easily rattle off a long list of places where I actually look forward to seeing the staff.

I did say there were exceptions, good on them. But then they could be managed by a tool also on low wages (for a manager), who wouldnt have the experience to prevent the service falling into chaos. I hope Azure pull their finger out, it's not difficult to run hospitality, you just need a team that know what they are doing, Azure need to pay to get that, you can't get it staffing with low cost labour.

just spoke to a friend who works match day and she told me that azure had cancelled staff training as it was to expensive to run

Not all, but at some levels maily managment and supervisors
A friend of mine works there and gets paid £6.50 per hour. It might seem low but the hotels etc in the area pay min wage so they are much better in that respect. The only difference being the number of hours on offer. They work one day a week if that - but love it!

I was referring to many of the general eating establishments across this country, which are made up of chain type pubs (Harvester, Brewers Fayre, Wetherspoons etc) and fast food outlets like McDonald's, Pizza Hut, KFC etc, all of which unfortunately offer sub standard food cooked in a sub standard fashion served by sub standard staff. Some of these places offer a reasonable meal, but when many of these places even struggle to offer a nice set of clean matching cutlery, then I won't bother thanks.
There are some very good chefs about working in quality family run places, offering well cooked, well presented and well served food, even in our county, but unfortunately these establishments seem harder to find these days, and the ones that are about seem to be struggling real bad, due to the majority of people piling spending their cash in those Harvester type places.
One of my favorite restaurants near to where I live closed recently unfortunately (due to owner retirement), 'The Hungry Monk' in Jevington. They could always russel up a fantastic meal, with locally sourced produce and cooked to the highest standards possible. The whole service experience was spot on too, perfection was always guaranteed but not at an extortionate price.
Please enlighten me with some of recommendations, or just a couple of your favorites, I'm always up for taking the wife somewhere nice.
Sorry, I appreciate these are genuine grievances as you're not getting what you paid for. But by 'eck, I can't help but laugh at the "problems" fans have to deal with nowadays compared with a few years ago.
Yeah, the 1901's should count themselves lucky - in WSU last night I got a cheese burger in a bag. Somewhere along the line this bag did not remain horizontal so I had a sticky mess of bits & bobs at the bottom of the bag and had to re-construct the bun / burger / fillings.
It was still nice mind you..

You seem to have a bit of inside information about the state of Azure and the catering at the Amex, are you sharing your concerns with with anyone at the club? If these things are going on behind the back of the club then they shoud know about it.
The WSU burger last night was awful, been ok before but completely differant this time.

Unfortunately the poor standard of service is not confined to the 1901 club. In the West Stand Lower it has been poor all season. I loaded my season ticket with £100 on two occasions. After the first couple of months I put the second amount on the card as I believed th eearly problems were teething problems. Sadly not the case. I won't be putting any more cash on it.
Too often the food you want is not available, the card reader at the pie & pint kiosk hasn't worked for at least 3 months, beer runs out, pies run out, milk etc is not put out on the rear walls. Management need to be visible & observe the experience. Have reverted to my Withdean regime of a pint before going to the ground & take my flask for half time. I would love to give the club some more money but they need to offer a much better service. If the catering was not inside a football stadium with a captive audience they would be out of business in no time.
