After living up here for many years there are a few things that I find fascinating about the underground.

Particularly the single platform stations in Clapham that would probably never get past H&S legislation if built today.

Also the escalator at Angel.

I've also got a fondness for Highbury and Islington where the mainline conveniently decides to come underground and meets the Victoria line on the opposite platform.

Sorry another - but the oddity at Stockwell where the Northern and Victoria lines are interlaced. Basically the southbounds/northbounds rather than sharing a platform with a train going the other way, meet the other line going the same direction.

Have you visited the fake houses at Leinster Gardens?

Aware of them but no sadly. Must get round to it.

I have however visited some other fake ventilation shafts and been down one of the parallel tunnel networks they built for the Northern Line but never ended up using.

:)

It was a few years ago but the Camden one is off the High Street quite a way from the station. Like the others its was leased by a storage company.

Fascinating actually. Bunk beds still down there from the second world war.
