I think it will be either Daggenham at home or at Wallsall. I'd love it (To quote Kevin Keegan) if we secured the champoinship before we play Southampton. It means they would have to give us a guard of honnor, can you imagine the look on Nigel Adkins' face!

To be honest a few games ago, i was getting nervous, but now we've won lots of our games recently plus the teams around us have dropped points, I think we can walk away with it. If we can get as many points as possible before the southampton game I don't think it would matter even if we dropped points, I think we're pretty much safe. 
Is the correct answer. I would have thought twelve more just to be safe.

as we stand today, technically we need 15 more points (total 92) to be guaranteed promotion. (1.5 points per game against our current average of just over 2 points per game)
Because of our superior goal difference 14 points (total 91) will do.
We need 19 more points (total 96) to be guaranteed to go up as champions. (1.9ppg and still comfortably under our current strike rate over the season as a whole)
Realistically I think that Gus' original target of two points a game (total 92) will take us up as champions given the task our competitors face to maximise their points. I reckon the only game we will lose in the run-in is at Rochdale and I will be happy to get a point away to Dagenham so my money is still on getting that little "p" alongside our name on the league table at Walsall with the "c" following after the Southampton game as even a point against them will mean they won't be able to overtake us.

I'll update that, taking into account today's results.
Just let's imagine that, for the rest of the season, we play as badly as the team with the worst record in our division - Swindon Town.
They have scored 0.89 points per game.
If we could achieve that level of dreadfulness, we'd get another 8 points and finish on 88.
And now let's ask ... how could Huddersfield or Peterborough get more than 88?
Huddersfield would need another 22 points from 8 games ... 2.75 points per game. Peterborough would need 24 points from their 8 games ... 3 points per game (because 23 points from 8 games is impossible).
NO-ONE achieves that. Not even the Albion, in our best run of games since 1956. Manchester United fly high with 2.10 points per game. Crawley have 2.31 points per game.
We are home and dry already. In fact, we are sitting in front of the telly, with a glass of very fine malt whisky to celebrate with.

It's all about getting promotion. Which is all about not dropping into third place.
The calculations are based on us doing REALLY BADLY and only getting another 8 points in the next 9 matches (to finish with 88). If Southampton manage 2 points per game (which they haven't achieved so far this season), they'll finish on 85.

It's in effect 11, given our vastly superior g/d over Hudds - we only need to win 3 and draw 2 from the last 9 games.
16 points - 5 wins and a draw or 4 wins and 4 draws - for the championship (less if we pick up any points against SCC at Withdean).
