Let's sing the albion to 100 points.
ABSOLUTELY this!
Let's sing the albion to 100 points.
Erm ... my apologies. There is ONE team that has achieved 2.63 points per game in their last eight games. They are top of League One and are called ... Brighton & Hove Albion.
Just looked again we could seal it by Rochdale !
Wrong I'm afraid! Would need one more point to make it mathematically certain by Rochdale!

Just let's imagine that, for the rest of the season, we play as badly as the team with the worst record in our division - Swindon Town.
They have scored 0.92 points per game.
If we could achieve that level of dreadfulness, we'd get another 9 points and finish on 86.
And now let's ask ... how could Huddersfield or Peterborough get more than 86?
Huddersfield would need another 20 points from 8 games ... 2.50 points per game. Peterborough would need 21 points from their 8 games ... 2.63 points per game.
NO-ONE achieves that. Manchester United fly high with 2.10 points per game. Crawley have 2.31 points per game.
We are home and dry already.
Yes - it's Tuesday 5th April, when we don't play, if all results go our way.
I'll update that, taking into account today's results.Just let's imagine that, for the rest of the season, we play as badly as the team with the worst record in our division - Swindon Town.

Just let's imagine that, for the rest of the season, we play as badly as the team with the worst record in our division - Swindon Town.
They have scored 0.89 points per game.
If we could achieve that level of dreadfulness, we'd get another 8 points and finish on 88.
And now let's ask ... how could Huddersfield or Peterborough get more than 88?
Huddersfield would need another 22 points from 8 games ... 2.75 points per game. Peterborough would need 24 points from their 8 games ... 3 points per game (because 23 points from 8 games is impossible).
NO-ONE achieves that. Not even the Albion, in our best run of games since 1956. Manchester United fly high with 2.10 points per game. Crawley have 2.31 points per game.
We are home and dry already. In fact, we are sitting in front of the telly, with a glass of very fine malt whisky to celebrate with.
It's all about getting promotion. Which is all about not dropping into third place. How do Southampton fit into all of this?
It's in effect 11, given our vastly superior g/d over Hudds - we only need to win 3 and draw 2 from the last 9 games.12 points needed now
