From the shite I have been reading on here everything is Barbers fault! Surely the cup game is no more expensive then the forest game to buy a ticket?

The issue is that the club are holding back the cheaper seats forcing people to buy the more expensive or risk simply not getting the game. In this case as the game is a sell out they've all gone anyway but not so for Posh, Bris City for example.

Cup game is more expensive for STH's but that's a whole diff story .. (pretty well) all seats are avail .. you just need to pay for them

issues of price weren't to do with this game

In fairness I distinctly remember reading loads of moans about selling overpriced tickets first and holding back cheaper ones and how "fans" wouldn't stand for it. Going to be interesting to see how many they sell for Newcastle. I'm guessing anything under a full house will be deemed a failure on here?

Not having a go but this has all become rather silly and so far the stats are looking to be on the club's side and not the increasingly tiny but vociferous minority

clarifying one of the issues about Newcastle tickets............. as a season ticket holder I get a REDUCED price for 23 league games but pay NORMAL price for cup games. Christ I'm beginning to feel like ERNEST. But it's all a matter of perspective.

The cup game is a totally different matter.

The fact that Forest sells out doesn't prove anything. It's the games that don't sell out that are the bigger issue. The club are holding back the less expensive tickets therefore "forcing" those that want to go to buy tickets that they may well find difficult to afford.

I'm a STH so it's (largely) academic for me but I've been following this for a few weeks now and have a ton of sympathy for those that, for whatever reason, do not have ST's .... and yes of course they are in a minority but it doesn't make them wrong

Cup are not more expensive for STH, we just have to pay the normal price. We all know this before we sign up for a ST, cup games are not included. We get a cheaper seat for signing up to the 23 league games, if I wanted to buy my seat for a league game I would be charged £39 hence I have a season ticket.

and your point is?? the club can only sell each seat once. .......

.......unless the ticket exchange kicks in, in which case they'll be selling those tickets twice.

My point is that it wasn't actually sold out was it? As highlighted by posts that came after mine about more tickets being available. I wasn't referring to already purchased tickets.

Yes - I nearly purchased online a restricted view seat by error for a family member at the back of the South Stand - how can there be a restricted view at the back of the South Stand ? I also note it was not discounted in any way.

They are going to adopt the Charlton model and leave the practice nets up for the whole game !

What's the current capacity of the Amex? Could this be a record crowd?

Current capacity is 27,500.

I think today's game could well be the highest gate this season as Forest have sold a fair few.

I don't think this will be a record today as there still a load of good seats that have not been released for sale.

The ones I am referring to are those in S1B and S1G. These are the border blocks between home and away fans. For the Forest game, it seems that up to 15 rows are being used for segregation. This is crazy and OTT.

For the Manchester Derbies and North London Derbies than use about a third of this amount!

In S1G we have only sold home tickets up to the walkway (half the block) and in S1B I think we have sold up to 4 rows in at the top but none at the bottom.

Even if 5 rows were released in S1G there would be a 100+ cheap £28 tickets.

Of course, it has not been released and the game has been declared a sell out (which I guess is good for sponsors etc) but this means since 3pm yesterday, no concession prices have been available.

So today, a kid instead of paying £9 will have to pay full whack.

Wiki have it as 27,350. Not sure how we tell if a record crowd given they now report tix sold. So we've sold all ours and if they've sold all their it'll be capacity less amount for segregation. Things like comps, players freebies etc are included I assume. Seem to remember we sold out Sheff W and they bought 1700 but the reported "attendance" was 26,594 so about 750 missing if those numbers are right.

Shocking . Could be the ticket people rather than bha

I rang the ticket people (number on the ticket site) last week to try and buy 2 in the West. They said all they had was what's on the website, it's all that the club allow them to sell. They suggested I call the Amex or Queens Road and hey presto I get 2 in the West. I don't think the ticketing company are doing it ... + the club would have a hissy if they were

And another thing.....

If the ticket exchange was truly live, why are there none available in the WSU? I can't believe that not one of the 5000 odd STH here have not made their seat available.

The ticket exchange is truly live - there are four tickets available in the WSU! Therefore you can now believe that at least four of the 5000 odd STH here have made their seat available.

Hope that makes you feel better now that conundrum has been solved.
