Looking for NSC advise here:
I'm seriously compensating buying a ST for the upcoming season however my two main problems are:
I play football for my local club every Saturday
I live 160 miles away from Brighton & family

Therefore, I can say now, I couldn't make every home game, possibly 50% home games and a good few away matches.
Without being flamed etc.. Is it really worth buying a ST or chancing my arm at getting the odd ticket for a few games?

Chance it, the south stand is being used for general sale next season, so as long as you can get to a pc as soon as tickets go on sale you should be fine.

I live 200+ miles away and cannot make every match but having given it a swerve last year I am buying 2 ST's for this season. Worth it? Possibly not just in VFM terms. In your situation I would think long and hard to be honest

I got a ticket every home game last season, got everyone from on here. With all the extra seats going in you will have no problem at all getting tickets. On the other hand, if we were to get promoted next season, i think tickets would become hard to come by in the Premier League. That is where ST holders will have the advantage

You will find it easy to get tickets for home games as long as you are quick. The only thing is that if you don't have a season ticket, you will have no chance of getting to the bigger away games.

Anyone have an idea how much the general sale tickets will be for the game to game sales in the South Stand ?

Think last season it was £28 the same as any other stand, but this year they will have the travel add on im assuming so probably about £30 quid.

South and North stands are cheaper than the other stands. Away fans paid £24 last season in the south.

At the end of the day people have busy lives so can't make many games,i also made very few home games but my seat was full still by others.Next season i will try and make more games but just to busy so can only go with the flow.

If you can afford it like me then keep it and try and let others use your st,if not you have a good chance of getting a ticket anyway so do as you wish:D

p.s I don't even make 20% of home games

dont play footie, but in same boat, live about same distance, 3hrs from Brighton, but still had STH for years. Think of it as donating money to the club you love with chance to go 50% of games....... drove to liverpool in cup then straight home again, it was worth it.

youll always find someone to give/sell ticket to. I have loads of favours stacked up

If your thinking of travelling back on the train and have to get to kings cross/ st pancras be prepared to either leave early or get home very late, I had to give mine up as I spent late evenings waiting at kings cross for my advance train, the transport was so unreliable I had to buy a ticket again a number of occasions because I missed the 8.40 train to Leeds so instead started getting nearly the last one

Thanks everyone so far, some good advice being heard! There are a few people up my way who drive down so I can car share, transport itself isn't the problem, more the cost.
Also, I need to get on the loyalty ladder as I haven't had a ST since Withdean '07.

Cant you not come to an agreement with somebody in a similar position preferably a friend, who cant attend all the games and share the ticket.

Great idea there. Ticket-Share or something along those lines. Will think about this

The politically correct answer is probably not to take an ST if there is a chance it will sit empty on occasion, but I'd say it depends on who you know in Sussex who might use it. If you know you can regularly get people to give you £15 to use it when you can't make games then the benefits (a regular seat/neighbours when you are at games, guaranteed ticket for the big ones, a nice wad of loyalty points) would make it well worth it.

In truth if you can afford one, get it as you will NOT regret it.. And as someone else says treat it as an investment to the club.. If you can't go, give the seat to a mate or family member and feel good about enabling others a chance to see the albion ( that's what I do, and I love the idea my brother gets to see games to as my treat). The other thing which you cannot forget is you go when you can and NO worries about trying to get a ticket...

If it isn't a massive expenditure for you (for some it is, for some it isn't) then I think there is a far bigger chance of you regretting a decision not to get one, than there is of you regretting a decision to get one. Yes, you'll probably get a ticket for any game, but you'll also probably be able to pass your ticket on for any games you miss - plus as hinted above you're guaranteed to get a ST should we reach the promised land next season.
