Mickey Adams has always said we know where we are after the first 10 league games.

Well where are we?

We have the makings of a very good side. We have the tools, but the management do not seem to be ablwe to get the best out of the players and playing as a team.

We looked great and matched Man City, yet Micky immediatly changed the team in the crucial areas. Why? Why is he so keen to rush Hawkins back when he is not fit? Why play Virgo in midfield?

I am very concerned.

1) Basically lost Lynch, who I think is our best defender.

2) Playing Virgo everywhere but his best position.

3) Playing a centre back that is clearly not good enough, injured or not.

And unable to close out games.

The man needs time, but several decisions, such as playing Virgo right midfield to make me very concerned about Mickys management of the side.

Think Mickey been pretty negative. I think if we are a bit more positive with team selections then we surely have enough to get results.

10 games gone though and this is where we are ! You have to say it looks like another mid table finish. Don't think we'll be in relagation fight but we look a million miles from a play off push.

Concerning !

Agree on NO.2 but not the others.

Hawkins "clearly not good enough"? 2 goals let in in first 6 games when fit? Awesome perfomance at Yeovil? Needs to be rested but he's good enough when fit IMO.

So far we have badly underperformed. We have a squad as good as most in this division yet are not getting the results (or performances) we should be getting.

Strange subs, negative tactics and playing people out of position when better options are available have cost us. With the squad we have I think we will do ok once they gel but fear it will be too late to do anything other than finish at the higher end of mid-table.

I don't really know what to make of it. Normally I would say that the team needs time to gel because of so many loans.
But the fact that he has lost Lynch and his team selections and substitutes are just not working concern me.
He needs time but i really felt we were in for a good season with the squad we have:(

I think the same as you our squad is stronger but we are not playing as a unit and that was one of Deanos great qualities playing with the ball if we had done that today we would have stood a chance.
My main criticism with Mickey is he is to close to certain players maybe they remind him of when he played.

I thought we set up far to defensive and generally the whole squad is to defensive yet we are leaking goals how does that work?

Well it is a case of either Micky is not good enough or Hawkins is not good enough.
If Hawkins isn't fit then it is absolutely shocking management from Micky because Virgo and El-Abd are both good centre halves.

Completely agree. One or the other are to blame.

This year, I never thouht our defence would have been the problem, especially with Virgo back and this experienced Hawkins to replace Guy.

Unfortunately the opposite has happened and every time an opposition team attacks us, they look like they are going to score.

Personally I would recall Lynch now, I would have Lynch and Elphic as centre backs, Virgo full back with whing the other side. We need to shore up this defence.

We've not got it right yet. I can see us being very strong in the second half of the season once the new boys bed in. Virgo should be at centre half though, especially now we have plenty of midfield options.

Promotion you will see.

I admire your optimism.

I think the players have lost the habit of playing with the ball and therefore lost confidence on it that why i believe it's the only way to play football, unless you have a Bobby Z.
p.s.
Murray isn't yet in that league.

Does seem a bit strange that Micky plays Hawkins over Lynch, despite Lynch quite possibly being better than Hawkins both when he is fit and unfit.

Agreed.

We haven't exactly got a lot of pace in the defensive also that seemed apparent for there second goal over run by two 17 year old.

I said from day one that against quality opposition there is no way that Elphick and Hawkins will cope. They are too slow and listening to it today it sounded like i was right.

Either :
Whing Virgo Elphick Lynch

or:

Virgo Elphick Lynch Richards

I wouldn't exactly put Virgo down as quick.

Who is our fastest defender? Richards,Elphick?
