Eh. Happy to get the win and 3 points to at least maintain a gap over Palace and reduce the chances of them finishing above us.

But we make such hard work of creating chances. And it's so frustrating that when we get them, we waste them by hitting the shot so close to or at the keeper, wasting all that effort and making every goalkeeper look like a world beater (Trafford anyone?). Without that penalty it's 0-0.

Is a 1-0 that could have easily been 0-0 a good result against Villa?
It would be a good result against a peak Villa, the usual strong villa that takes us apart, but that wasn't peak villa at the amex today. That was a tired, distracted by Europe Villa, who knows they're in a comfortable position for 4th place champions league spot, they were not at the races today and we needed a penalty that we'd call soft if it went against us to get the breakthrough.

I'm still dreading a pasting in our remaining games against a Newcastle and Chelsea who both have found form and momentum of late.
the answer is that was a great result - forget the analysis and whether it was pretty it was 3 points AND we were the better team, that might not have been peak Villa but we haven't been peak BHAFC for a while either, today we were practical in second half...if that's what's gives us 3 points then a few more of those please.

The ref dished out two yellows for us for marginal pull backs on the half way line.

Kept his card in his pocket, when Pedro was wiped out having k nocked the ball past his defender in a similar position.

The ref was the standard level of "fair" for me.
Not borderline corrupt, but decidely one-eyed.
Gave us a penalty where many refs wouldn't have done though. Maybe he'd been told that the offside lines may not have been drawn from the ball, and was evening it up?

I suspect I’d have agreed with you if we hadn’t of won 😂

Great afternoon. Loved it. Best team performance from keeper, defence ,through battling midfield. The best was was the attacking phases passing from midfield to the wings and through to central strikers. Haven't seen that for a long time. The stats say it all. Julio MotM. Passion in 2nd half. Playing with no fear, which hasn't been the case lately. And best of all against the Villa. SEAGULLS!!!!

By the way. Did anyone have the Sunday roast dinner in a big Yorkshire pudding special in the WSL concourse ? Looked great. Didn't see that advertised.

Have you ever considered Dignitas?

I'm curious as to why anyone would choose to vote for all 3 options?
The OP has set a test. It's part of an experiment to determine what % of NSC posters are absolute dipshits.

It feels good to get a win. The run of form we have been on has not been enjoyable. During times like this, NSC becomes almost unbearable. A few bad results and we’re at each other's throats. Trolls come out the woodwork and seem to get a kick out of it. I think the empty seats too reflect where we are as a fan base, which is fine. The club’s exponential progression will always mean that we have a significant number of fair weather fans, and that’s okay. Wouldn’t want to be playing in front of 5000 each week.

However, the fact of the matter is we have been spoiled recently. Bad runs should be expected. It doesn’t mean we should go on and on about gillingham and withdean. But it also does not mean the world is ending. Embrace the experience. This is what we fought for. NSC brings out the best and the worst in our community. Over and out.

Brilliant win. Last week we looked like we'd given up. This week we stepped up. Hopefully the RDZ comments about the players looking like they had no motivation paid off.

And we absolutely dominated them. Webster and Veltman masterclass. Well done De Zerbi tactics spot on too.
We set up well with Webster in the centre and Igor left back. As we should have done last week. The effects of a tough Euro week showing for once in our favour.

I'm annoyed I spent so much of the match, having seen the name of one of their centre backs, trying to create a 'what do you get if you cross X with Y' joke that ended with the punchline 'T'Pau' - but I couldn't quite dig it out, without him being transferred to a club In Yorkshire.

It was mentioned on the clubs match day info post on the site but didn’t see it in ESL as I’d definitely have tried it.
