I wonder if the OP has posted on here someone he doesn't like's mobile number & made this story up, a great wind up and I'm sure he'll be pi55ing himself all through tonights game as his mates phone is going mental with texts ;-)

Wish I had thought of it myself :lolol:

If you've got a programme, you can check the number is genuine. It came up in a thread on Saturday which has now been removed because the club are investigating racism in the 1901 section.

Another thing to add to the list of reasons why I'm really starting to really dislike this football club as a whole.

I love going to watch the albion week in and week out & have done for 20 years+ now but this is getting ridiculous and Imust say over the past 12 months, my love for this fine club is waining I must admit!

It's a total joke that you could have a really bad foul, terrible referee and within context let out the odd swear word or 2 and someone could take offence due to being dead inside and want to go to the football and sit there in silence, add nothing and moan about fellow albion fans who let out a swear word,I have a couple in front of me who everytime they hear a solitary swear word, they turn around and shake their heads in total disgust as if they have never heard such a thing in their entire lives!

People who I'd like to add that ive never seen at the albion prior to the new stadium, the club seems happy to forget who partly got this club to where it is now and it certainly wasnt just blooms money!

If this is about 1 or 2 individuels in regards to racism or 90 minutes of violent language then fine, get them out but I fear for my own seat at this rate as I do go to football and do use bad language, its bloody football...not a fcuking library, its supposed to be intimidating, noisy and passionate.

Another step in the direction of creating a PC world....why dont we just sit there in fcuking silence, will you be happy then Brighton & Hove Albion.

Do you honestly think that is how it will work?

The ref makes a bad decision and someone calls the ref a f***ing prick and someone else texts this to the stewards.

Are they really going to wade in and lob the bloke out? Really?

Do you think this has been done without the whole process being thought through and some sort of guidelines drawn up?

The club have a list of seats which are watched for each game. Before each game the stewards are given these lists (They make hilarious reading by all accounts if you ever happen to see one).

Now they are publicising this the poor old stewards are going to have about 500 seats each to look out for making the whole thing a waste of time.

It shouldn't be up to the public to decide what is and what isn't anti social behaviour.

If the game is dull tonight I may just randomly report a seat and see how the stewards react. Will a text saying "the person in row X seat 100 has just set fire to himself" be dealt with quicker than "the person in row X seat 99 has just said "what the f***"".

So if you were threatened with violence or witnessed a racist copper on the streets, you'd look the other way?

Some people are really precious. If someone does text in because of bad language (which, unless they are in the family stand i sincerely doubt) then it doesn't mean that the offender will be turfed out..it just brings it to the attention of the stewards who can decide if they think it's worthy of their intervention. I would expect that they will understand that there always will be swearing at football games (even in the 1901, there's some reet foul mouths in the area i used to be), but if there are threats/violence/racism etc then they can be made aware and step in.

They're there to protect everyone - it's a family club after all, and it's in everyones best interests that it's in a nice atmosphere. It's not going to become draconian, or sanitised, or any other slippery slope fallacies that people have dreamt up.

Bang on. Football is /was supposed to be the game of the working class and as such working class language is going to be used. Personally doubt I'll make the end of the season without a ban, especially given the quality of ref we get. Do the club want passionate support, with all that comes with it or do they just want a bunch of corporate noddy's who will applaud politely whenever
anything vaguely exiting
happens on the pitch?

Not on the pitch - this is in the stands, around the 85th minute...

There should also be an element of self-policing involved. Yes be passionate etc., but ask yourself, 'Am I OTT?' I've decided to calm it down a bit personally, as there are kids near where I sit, and I'm sure people around me don't want to hear me giving it loads throughout the game. I'm going to sit quietly and listen for a change, to what is going on around me

That's exactly the same as the club are asking to be reported. Not swearing but genuine anti social behaviour.

You've miss understood me but that is neither here nor there.

Some people find swearing anti social, others don't. Some people find drunkenness anti social, others don't. Some people find racism anti social, others don't and so on and so on. Now that the football crowd is becoming more sanitised than ever this is going to become a complete waste of time because it's going to ringing off the hook until it's just Liz Costa and her cronies left in the ground.

The stewards should be doing this not the general public.

Honestly Hiney, I'd say there are a half dozen or so on here who do believe that.

Your suggestion that the club may have actually thought about this will be lost on so many people who are convinced this club;

a) wants to fleece them at every opportunity.
b) doesn't care about the fans, at all.
c) doesn't want anyone to have any fune
d) doesn't want an atmosphere.
e) makes tickets too expensive, (NB, hardly more expensive than most other teams in the league) (NBB, so expensive we've got the highest ticket sales in the league).
f) has welched on its proimse to provide ticket exchange, competetive team, great stadium, effective transport,

etc etc :bla:

The stewards will decide whether to act, not the public, in the long run.
