    [Food] Lose 7lbs in November

So last night went out for a curry and beer session with a mate I hadn’t seen for a while. Instead of 3/4 pints before popadoms etc etc I did this instead at the pub whisky and sodas instead of pints (still alcohol and calories but no carbs), at curry house no popadoms, no rice and shared a...

    [Food] Lose 7lbs in November

After losing 15-16kg in 2months I thought this will be easy but since 28th October I’ve lost a measly 1kg. We were on holiday last week so did have a few meals out and more alcohol than usual (whisky rather than beer as less carbs). My excuse though is that we walked miles across Exmoor so...

Missed this back in April and now the answer to how the f do you get to this level of spend now makes sense. I don’t know anyone giving £1k in charity donations, these people need to get on money comparison sites for broadband / phone, I won’t be having private medical insurance, what is...

    [Misc] Retirement

What this doesn’t take into account is your pension (if under good mgt) should be increasing by 3+% a year above inflation so you’ll need a smaller fund and as Warren Buffett says - the 8th wonder of the world is compound interest

[Misc] Kemi Badenoch confirmed as new Tory leader

Let’s be fair - if they had any decent candidates (Hunt or Cleverly maybe?) what was the point of being leader as they won’t get in next election (think Howard, Hague, Duncan Smith during Blaie era) better waiting for next time in 5 years time. Tories are doing what Labour did by voting for...

    [Misc] Retirement

I agree if your relying on just state pension your going to be really strugglin. I think the numbers for ‘comfortable‘ are high based on what my mum and mother-in-law get as both are actually saving on lesser amounts (but they are both in their 80s)

    [Misc] Retirement

It was including state pension and I think after tax but the numbers have gone up a lot due to inflation https://www.retirementlivingstandards.org.uk/
