The fact the game and therefore the shirt sponsor will be broadcast all over the world is the main reason. Can't personally see them getting a much ROI because fans are wearing it but I see your point.
So the club have confirmed that the sleeve sponsor is mandatory, and aside from taking away fans choice, I can't help but think this might be a ploy to make it clear who is wearing the fake shirts next season.
Sorry if fixtures, and I realise there is a lot of football still to play but what happens if we and USG both qualify for Europa League? As both clubs are owned by TB the rules are we cant both be in the competition?
As I say a nice problem to have, probably.
I'm convinced this story is complete rubbish and probably paid for by Sky/BT etc. Their talk of 'cutting edge digital tactics' stinks of modern day 'detector van' propaganda that was well establish lies.
Id wager they have very limited (if at all) ability to know who's streaming and who isn't...
I read it that some will be held at the away ground and only those will be checked. Therefore if you receive yours in the post then you know you wont be checked.
When I lived in a house share about 15 years ago we used to do this game where the first person to put the heating on was crowned the pu**y of the house and was referred to as such during the winter.
Ever since then I always push myself to leave it as late as possible to put the heating on, so...
Apologies if fixtures, but this civil disobedience movement is growing fast ahead of the anticipated c80% increased in energy bills from October 1st.
I really hope millions get behind this and force the government to act.

Millions of us won’t be able to afford food and...
It should be required for planning permission though. In order to give permission for more housing the infrastructure should have the capacity FIRST. Its a bit like having a child and only realising after they are born that you need clothes, baby food, a cot etc.
The lack of investment in infrastructure is the biggest issue with these new build estates. Sounds great housing 1500 people until there's no GP or dentists appointments anymore, and you cant drive down the road without sitting in traffic for half an hour.
Not to mention they pack these houses...
This is just crazy. As you said you don't own the box so why are you responsible for its repair etc?
Luckily i'd never had a problem but there's no way I would have paid for repairs / a new box etc if it was needed to obtain the service. I suspect this is something they try and get away with...
I just found that we very very rarely ever watched things live with our busy lifestyle at the moment. Always plenty to watch on demand so its a nice little saving.
For live Albion games, i'll either be there if its at home or at the pub / round a mates if its on Sky/BT.
