Massive thanks to you all - there are plenty of ideas in here that we hadn't come across.
The kids are very small still - 4 yrs and a baby, so fun parks and water parks sound ideal.
Trufflehound - i google-mapped the region to try and work out travel times (a bit simplistic, granted) and...

Longshot: I'm totally clueless about booking holidays etc and so, as usual when i'm not sure which way to turn, i turn to NSC.... :albion2:
Basically i'm looking to take the wife and our two young kids to europe for a week sometime end of May / beginning June. Plan was to drive over...
For my sins i’m commuting into London from Burgess Hill tomorrow morning...
The Ockley landslide now means (i think) there is a bus running between Three Bridges and Dorking, instead of the big old train route loop via Horsham. Can any of you NSC rail workers/boffins tell me – if i get the...
Thanks Ssf.
What i dont get is why the Southern websit is showing the 6:51 Brighton to L.Vic train as being delayed, but on its way? Too late for me to make it to BH station now anyway, but has this train actually left Brighton, or are they talking bollocks?!
I assume its the latter.
Thanks. Ernest.
Yep Southern have now detailed the 6:23 and 6:29 as cancelled. Dunno why they couldnt have done that earlier; surely they knew?..
Guess i just have to sit here on the Souther website clicking refresh..
ernest - Do you mean that you think there literally won't be anything, train or bus, leaving Brighton heading north til 7:30?
I recently moved to Burges Hill; am a good 20min walk from the station. Need to get into London, preferably City Thameslink, though Vic is fine. Southern website is...
(Shameless Self-promotion)
Well, after all that it turns out that my band - The Veta Corps - is actually playing at the 'Symptomatic' night @ Sticky Mike's tonight. We'll be onstage 8:30pm, supporting The Experimental Pop Band. Make sure you come on down and check us out!
In case you need...
Don't think anyone has yet mentioned - Other Lives "Tamer Animals". I think its their debut album.
Feeling a bit braindead today so i'm not sure how to describe it! But basically its a bit like The National, but more widescreen; sounds like Morricone in places. Really excellent.
I love "Stories From The City..." and would always recommend it. Though its a bit of a 'New York' album, kinda glammed up. Not as spooky/haunting as the two albums you've already heard, HT.
The only album i've seen get a properly bad review is "Uh Huh Her" and i never bothered to buy it. Would...
Has anyone has been to these three venues? I'd never heard of them until, well, today. But i haven't been for a night out in Brighton for ages
Green Store Room is by the station, but there's not alot of info on their website. Sticky Mike's i can get even less info from the ents website...
There was a previous thread about the RWC where i tipped Ireland to cause an upset at some point, either v Australia in the group stage or v South Africa, if we get them in the QF.
4 dire warm-up defeats later and i'm seriously worried about playing Italy :nono:....... feck it i'm going to...
