And some need to calm down.
Apologies for using this forum as a means of expressing thought, apparently that's also a passtime which should be postponed for a while.
Nobody knows anything, but everyone is acting like they do. Everyone talks as if they know what's happening and what to do about it. No. Accept that nobody does - I certainly don't. Opinions on how to handle this situation differ wildly, obviously that extends to science and governments too. It...
Nice Work have had to postpone all of their events as well, which was largely inevitable. I think the only positive justification for this reaction is that if the virus can be halted now, we might get football and all sports back sometime in April.
What I don't understand is why that isn't the...
My dad is having a curry, it's 10:15am, what's that about?! He gets up early, fair enough - but Christ man, that's bonkers. My next question is what unGodly hour will he be tucking in a sarnie later on?! It's only a degree under madness, not to mention the Sky News marathon he's currently...
:lolol: Absolutely savage. I regret making some small amendments to your latest Facebook profile picture to make you even more cool, suave and dangerous!
I want to a stag do up in York a couple of years ago and dragged my incredibly hungover self to their parkrun course at the racecourse...
What is funny is that motorists know there are potholes EVERYWHERE. And yet, still get angry when a cyclist rides away from them! The number of punctures I've had from being unable to avoid potholes is crazy, sometimes drivers are so close you have no chance to avoid dropping into them...
Cheers Artie - I'm coming for you! But so is Blue&WhiteSea and given he's got history, he may be the bigger threat!
Without any doubt at all, the increased volume over a consistent period of time has been the reason for the massive uptick in performances over all distances. I've not done a...
We're doing the same thing - but it's a one week rotation. It's the same policy worldwide, half people are enforced working from home and then the following week CAN work from the office, but can also choose to stay home. When it's a WFH week, there is no option to be in the office.
Enjoy the rest, and I look forward to your next comeback. Hopefully you're wrong about parkrun - but it could happen.
Some extremely serious pace in that parkrun. No surprise you're up there and competing with the finest, Gaffer!
Whatever I think about the hysterical reaction to the virus, I don't want to be potentially responsible for anyone catching it. I'm working from home today and potentially will all week. Frankly, I don't think it's going to be good for me mentally, but it'll give me a chance to do some housework...
No worries - I entered because of a targeted advert on Facebook! It's a really good race - a nice free long sleeved shirt as a bonus and the food options at the end were decent. Plenty of water stations helped! I don't think the course is especially quick, given the few climbs in the first 13...
So - saturday was a new 5k PB for me - 17:37 (37.79% AG) on the Prom which was enough for 2nd place. Gutted I was there rather than Hove Park, my time would comfortably have had me in 1st place. My time there will come! It wasn't a particularly wise decision to try and maintain the pace, but I...
I was watching a bit of Judd Trump earlier, what a player to watch. I love watching Snooker, but I don't often get the chance. People are missing out if they intentionally avoid taking an interest in it.
Do it, enjoy your life and live every day. You live every day.
I might be in the minority, but I have no problem believing the Brighton marathon will go ahead, despite the sad news about London.
I imagine that I will do over the summer months - but I quite like the idea of named events as being particularly memorable and significant. I enjoy long distance running but I don't have your endurance in terms of running multiple laps of the same route. parkrun is about my limit for running...
I appreciate life goes on and there will be plenty of races to come, etc. Obviously, it's trivial. But it's not unreasonable to want to enjoy your life and the things you enjoy doing, right?!
I've never been in any doubt that people have died, which is sad in all cases. All lives come to an...
If the marathon is cancelled before sunday's 20 mile race in Oundle (which is going ahead unless the government advice changes, apparently!) - I'll race it and see what speed I've got over 20 miles. It's not the marathon I'm targeting, but in the last day, really since my last post about the...
