    [TV] Fawlty Towers

'Basil doesn't bet anymore do you dear?' 'No, no, that particular avenue of pleasure has been closed off.' 'And we don't want it opened up again do we, Basil.' 'No, you don't dear.'

[Football] Teams That Never Seem To Move Up Or Down

First ones that came to mind are Preston and Bristol City, both seem to have spent a decade pretty much midtableish. Long term I think it was Rochdale that spent nearly 40 years in div 4/div 3/ league 2. EDIT: just seen you mentioned bands, these are more just division based.

[TV] Netflix - What's good to watch?

Kind of agree. I thought the acting in the first one was also far far superior, with a cast of British movie/Hollywood regulars and then the second one in the school was like watching an episode of Grange Hill with the acting level of some of the teachers/kids. Took me out of it a bit...

[Misc] How many on here went to a private school

I went to a state school and have taught in both both state and private education. As far as I'm concerned the differences are vast and i could go on about this all day. I currently teach in the private sector abroad. (Secondary). Part of that was a complete disillusionment with teaching in...

[Misc] Does Anyone Forget What The Day Is, And What Is Your Most Embarrassing Moment ?

Can relate. I once spent 30 minutes frantically scouring the pitch and surrounding areas for my other goalkeeping glove. It was on my hand.

[Albion] Man United wonderkid JJ Gabriel

Sounds like a footballing version of Todd Marinovich, his dad essentially used him as a human experiment on how to create an NFL quarterback from birth. That worked out well for him...

[Misc] Why Christianity needs to give its head a wobble

YES! This is one (among many) of the great things about living in Singapore. Holidays for Xmas, New Year, Chinese NY, Easter, Diwali, Hari Raya x2, Vesak day and Labour day. The more religions to be celebrated the merrier!

[Football] Nationalities to have never played in the English Football League(s)

Chopra as well was eligible to play for India, through his dad. Even said he'd give up his British citizenship for it. Never happened though.

    [Football] Jude Bellingham

Used to love Bellingham but he does seem to have been infected with Real Madridness.

[Misc] GCSE options - which would YOU choose?

Some of these are much more interesting than what we had to do at school. As well as the compulsory English/maths/science we had to do one of history or geo, at least one language, and my other choice was drama. Would have loved options like sociology, media production and photography. I've...

[Misc] The official “Well I never knew that” thread

I always find random geography facts fascinating. Like the fact that Edinburgh which is on Scotland's east coast, is further west than Bristol.

[Misc] The official “Well I never knew that” thread

To be fair, a wasp the size of a cricket ball would scare the shit out of me.

Soyzone Thread's reminded me of some cracker Karl Pilkington ones like Dire steaks and Deli meat tree.

    [Other Sport] Darts 2024

I liked his answer about the fact he just won 500k and when asked what he was going to do next he just said he was looking forward to going back home and sleeping in his own bed.

[News] Tom Hardy, a touch of class.

Yep, he's somebody who one could get a particular opinion on based on interviews/media persona but is actually really nice in real life by all accounts. Also see Gervais R and Ramsey G.

[Albion] Who were some of your favourite non-Albion cult heroes from your youth?

Yep always would sign him on a free at the beginning of the season and he'd bang them in at lower league level. Love an Argentinian AM so Riquelme, Pablo Aimar, Andres D'allesandro and dare I say it the not quite Argentinian Paul Merson.

[Film] Books that you would like to be adapted for cinema

He directed The Road, another McCarthy novel so that makes sense. The last thing I saw of his was 'Lawless' with Tom Hardy which was ok but a little disappointing overall.
