I'd be happy for CG to give him a run for his money. I like Duffy's no-nonsense headed clearances, but I'm not a fan of his personal character or his inability to direct a header downwards from any of our corners.
Not sure why you felt the need to laugh at my post when I was being quite complementary about Palace. The line you quoted wasn't intended to be a criticism, more a highlight of how well gelled your team is. Man for man, I'd take quite a lot of the Southampton team over our players, but look...
I love our rivalry and dislike Palace as much as the next Albion fan, but you've got to hand it to them: they've done a cracking job to survive the drop (with relative ease in the end, it seems). They prove that a team is not as much the individuals as the sum of its parts. Man for man, I'd only...
8 out of the starting line-up last night, who GAINED A POINT AGAINST TOTTENHAM FRIGGIN HOTSPUR, were part of the promotion campaign, and 6 of those were part of the season before that. Incredible to see that tight-knit group from the Championship being able to mix it with the big boys. Shows...
Agreed. Sounded like an exciting game on the radio and I'm personally impressed we had the spirit to fight back twice from two goals down and give ourselves half a chance. That's very un-Albion like away from home this season.
We'll get the point or two we (might) need from somewhere. Onwards...
True, we're not great, but if you look at the away games against the teams in the bottom half, how many have we actually lost? Only West Brom, Hudders and B'mouth. The rest we've either drawn or won, and I really do think a point against Palace and Burnley would be a fantastic and achievable result.
I think it's misguided to think that Chris will be aggressive in this one. If we're level with 70 minutes to go, the risk of losing from a drawing position is not outweighed by the possibility of nabbing a late winner. I'd much rather Chris use whatever tactics to grind out a point and ensure...
If we pick up one more win, or grind out a couple of draws (easily possible against Palace, Burnley, maybe even Spurs/United at home), we're absolutely safe. Southampton and Stoke do not look like climbing out of this at all. People seem to forget the poor run of results we had in January before...
I'm not ashamed to say that there are certain scenarios which would cause me to consciously drift from the Albion. I've supported Brighton all my life, been up and down the country, had season tickets at Withdean etc. Albion is in my blood and is who I am. However, if we were to become a...
