Sober and very interesting reading for the fortunes of the Football League. As a regular attendee of Colchester United games last year they really do exemplify much of what is lamented in this article. £22 for a match day ticket for League Two football, less than half of a 10,000 seater stadium...
As a Suffolk resident, I'm a little bit in love with Town's new home shirt. Adidas are definitely kings at the moment where football shirts are concerned.
And we'll have £3m+ less money to spend on players after we've paid his and Hughton's get out clause, it seems.
Whether you're positive or negative about Potter, it's certainly a massive gamble by Tony that could very easily not pay off.
I used to be very much of this mindset but this season and the promotion season has greatly changed my mind. We had real leadership the year we went up: Bruno, Muzza, Rosenior and Sidwell. I think we greatly suffered this year without age and experience and relied too heavily on unproven...
100% this. Anyone who doesn’t think Hughton can play attacking football with the right personnel has a very short memory as we were pretty bloody exciting in our promotion season and scored A LOT of goals. Bet Norwich didn’t think he was too defensive when we put five past them at the Amex...
I think there is a lot of truth in that. What a weird world football is! (Btw, which region of Essex are you? I live just across in Suffolk but work in Colchester.)
I am delighted for Chris that he should be back in a job soon, but it's far too soon and raw to see him at another club for me. :(
For the record I have, am and always will be in the Hughton in crowd and was devastated to learn of the news that he had been sacked today. What rubs salt in the wound is Norwich City fans on social media and here taking it as yet another chance to have a pop at Chris.
For the record, Norwich...
I don't think that's necessarily true. Hughton can play attacking football with different formations as he very much did in the Championship. We also played 4-4-2 back then when we had Baldock and Muzza up top. He's being pragmatic for the current context we're in and with the players we have...
We desperately missed a Solly March who could drive us up the field like last weekend. When we're forced to defend so deep, you need someone who can force the team up higher rather than just booting it forward and it coming back again. Every time we tried to move the ball forward on the ground...
Jamie Moralee
6 year old me is a mascot at Scunthorpe away. Moralee comes on as a substitute towards end of game. Look away from the pitch, look back again and he has punched someone and got sent off. At least that's how I remember it!
Exactly. Pep walked into a squad ready to be Champions. Klopp didn’t and has also relied on British talent (Henderson, Milner, Alexander-Arnold and Robertson) whilst building a really exciting squad.
Would love it if we were the team to stop City.
