Yeah and the solutions don't seem overly obvious either. I was all for a salary cap to be introduced to restrain the crazy spending on wages. I then listened to the Price of Football podcast where it's explained that this may widen the gap between the Premier League and the EFL even further.
We had our roundtable discussion on the topic at the weekend. If you're not sick to death of podcast style football chat, you can watch three Ipswich fans, an Albion fan and an Ebbsfleet United fan talk about nostalgia, safe standing and new stadiums below. I manage to talk about Withdean and...
As many points as possible, especially as we should play even better, classier football when the pressure is off.
Plus each position is worth an additional £2.5 million I believe to Tony's coffers.
Very much agree with this. There is never any guarantee a new manager will be an improvement on the old. None of us could have foretold how Potter's appointment would go. The "in Bloom we trust" ethos is something most of us (including myself) ultimately fell back on, but he's only human, as...

A bit deflating tonight, most likely due to the third goal effectively killing the contest. I look forward to that nervous tension when watching Albion, and sadly that was diffused pretty quickly this evening.
I can see the logic to GP's tactics: play a high press with quick players like...
It's great to see how much discussion this topic has caused and people's differing memories and thoughts on the era!
Just a reminder that the talks are on at 2pm and 7pm tomorrow (Wednesday) via Zoom. Here's the link again to sign up...
It's interesting isn't it. I feel like when we hear those stories today we chuckle wistfully, but if we heard that Trossard had done that before a game, we'd be utterly livid.
Great to see this topic has stimulated conversation and hope to see some of you there virtually at the talk on Wednesday!
Kieran Maguire and Kevin Hunter Day on their Price of Football podcast a couple of weeks ago talked about this very issue and they said that those claiming it to be a...
Hi all,
History Indoors is an organisation run by researchers from the University of Essex providing free history talks to the general public during the lockdown on Zoom. Our next talk on Wednesday looks at whether the pre-Premier League 1970s and 80s was a golden era or not. Terracing and...
