[Albion] BBC sounds interview with Graham Potter

I don't expect us to be too close to mid-table, but I would have hoped for tangible progression from last season. So for me that would mean looking at a 14th-ish place finish, or 42 points. Admittedly that may still happen, it just looks unlikely from the season to date and looking at our run...

[Albion] BBC sounds interview with Graham Potter

Vaga, you know just as well as I do that most of those questioning GP are basing their opinions on us not being able to beat a single bottom half team (Newcastle apart) prior to two games ago. I see some of your points, but then again I can point to a number of ways we have either stood still...

[Albion] BBC sounds interview with Graham Potter

Aside from playing more attractive football and being able to lure the likes of Lallana and Welbeck (both of whom up to two games ago many people on here were saying were a waste of space), what else has tangibly changed (genuine question)?

[Albion] Debate: If Trossard was English, would Southgate call him up?

100% agree - this is the crux of it. Belgium possibly have a better starting XI but don't have the strength in depth England do. I know I'm in the minority on here, but after World Cup 2018 I've got a huge amount of time for Gareth Southgate. I'm just as frustrated that Dunk hasn't made it into...

[Albion] Football - does it make you happy?

This is a great thread. the only thing in life that gives me that adrenaline fuelled buzz, and it’s always been that way. I find your point about NSC very interesting and insightful because you’re right - when we lose, there’s something self-indulgently cathartic about venting my frustration...

[Albion] Which was the BEST goal? Dunk or Trossard?

Dunk’s, purely because we need more goals from set pieces to give the team breathing space. Our style of football inevitably leads to tons of corners, which is pointless if we don’t do anything with them. Two very satisfying goals today, for different reasons.

    [Albion] What a win!

What an excellent victory. Many will point to the fact that we took our chances, but in my opinion that's too simplistic. Look at the quality of the chances we had: two clear cut, one on one's (Gross and Trossard's), and we stick one of them away. How come? IMO because for the fifth win out of...

    Piers Morgan leaves GMB.

I agree. I’m just irked that of all the things he’s done that should have seen him walk, this is the one that has caused it to happen.

    [Albion] Fulham winning. Brace! Brace!

I think this shows that too much emphasis was put on the victories against Liverpool and Spurs. Last year, Norwich beat Man City, Watford beat Man United and Liverpool (at the height of their ascendency, no less) and Bournemouth beat Chelsea, Leicester and Everton twice. Yet all three went down...

[Albion] Potter in or out or fence

Vaga you’ve got to remember that this poll would naturally be taking place in the stands and in the concourses at the Amex, before, during and after each match in normal times. This is a lot more docile than it would be away from the computer in my opinion.

    [Albion] Player ratings v Leicester

Special mention for Neal as he gets a heck of a lot of (IMO largely unwarranted) stick from people but I thought he had an excellent first half. Outmuscled Tielemans to set Adam through. I would have been delighted for him if his goal had stood.

[Albion] Potter in or out or fence

I usually have lots to say in these threads but today not so much. In isolation, as frustrating as the result was, we’d move on, “learn and take take the positives” as GP would say. It was a fantastic first half and an individual error cost us, punishing us for not having got a second. However...
