Reading the list of clubs reminds me of collecting football programmes as a kid, scanning long lists posted to me after I'd responded to a classified ad in Shoot or something. I remember defunct clubs I'd never heard of like Aberdare seeming very exotic.
It was my local post office moving into a shop where there were fewer counters, bigger queues and a more awkward location that meant I started using Evri instead of Royal Mail for parcels. I'm probably not the only one so it's interesting to know Post Office and Royal Mail are competitors.
Part of me doesn't want Potter to go to Palace because I think he might make them a much better team. But a bigger part of me would be looking forward to his response the first time the teenagers publish one of their "open letters" on social media.
...or they bring in Potter and it's his first game managing them which would make the Chelsea boo-fest of last season look like a sedate church picnic by comparison
A quick Google shows it's not unique at all to us. e.g. Leicester https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/orange-glow-over-centre-leicester-4851207
The International Journal of Sustainable Lighting even did a study on it which, this being NSC, someone probably has access to...
That thing about making walk ups so expensive people don't bother to travel seems to be in place already on some lines. The other day I had to go from Bristol to Bath for work, a journey of 1 stop and 11 minutes, and an off peak single was a scandalous £9.20.
I'm with you. If it can't maintain structural integrity or alternatively if a significant amount of it melts during dunking then it's not a biscuit worthy of the name in my world.
Bit of a long shot, has anyone got any old postcards/photos of the Arcadia Cinema? My paternal grandfather was the organist/pianist there in the 1930s. He also used to play for the ice skaters at the Dome if anyone has photos of that from a similar time. Thank you!
Loyalty is incredibly hard to reward without someone missing out. The model the club has chosen is weighted towards rewarding the most loyal of all and gradually gets increasingly broad and "unfair" as it goes down the chain. At the moment someone on 200 points could have been a STH for 3 or 4...
It's lunchtime, and I have to wait in for a package so I did some maths:
Chelsea's wage bill just for those who played against Middlesborough, and just for yesterday, was around £205,000.
The players who appeared yesterday will cost them approximately another £72,000,000 in wages this year...
We must be one of the few clubs without a song to the tune of Delilah at the moment.
