Christ stat - the majority of the discussion seems to be about it as a wider issue in the game. At least that’s where I thought the conversation had gone.
According to my new Fulham friend (in the Guardian site naturally) it is an oft used tactic, as is general shithousery. I’ve not seen enough of their games to know, hence I asked ZeeZee.
It’s a bigger conversation, for me it’s not specifically about yesterday, it’s how to prevent games turning into stop/start cheat fests. It’s shite to watch apart from anything else.
It’s not a conspiracy, it’s managers schooling teams in how to abuse the laws in order to break up play. That’s not referees fault, the laws need to be altered to punish the piss taking. It’s endemic and the media praising such tactics and pundits not calling it out allows it to flourish. It’s...
It’s the incompetence that grates Albionbro. Add on the right amount of time for stoppages. That’s basic. That being said we were never scoring today. That’s why we lost. Not the ref.
We were not done by the ref, Fulham did a number on us. Plenty around me called it at half time. Be a winner for Fulham with their only shot on target. However, the referee was weak, Fulham played him. Which was frustrating.
I think most teams feel that way tbh. I initially thought Alexis would be sent off by VAR yesterday, then I remembered the challenge in Ferguson. For what it’s worth, it’s incompetence.
Doesn’t really tally with the two offsides that should have gone against Brentford for their equaliser at Arse, or the non-penalty for Chelsea. Apart from that though..
