As pointed out already, Bolasie went for over 30m and Wilf is a far superior player. Gylfi Sigurdsson left Swansea for 45m.
Considering the fact that he has only recently signed a new contract and the crazy state of the transfer market, I'd imagine he'd go for somewhere in the region of 50m-60m.
Every single one of our remaining fixtures is against a team we'd expect to take points from. We've finally got players coming back from injury and I'd expect us to get 9 points relatively comfortably.
Deary me :ffsparr:
Even in the unlikely event of our relegation, where are you going to find the £50m+ required to sign Zaha, and why on earth would he want to play for you? :lolol:
We all love Glenn and always will, but last season I'd have said that there's simply no comparison between the two players. Benteke has struggled massively with his finishing and with injury this season, but assuming he wakes up from his current hibernation, he is a considerably better striker...
I think our support coped with atrocious home form over an extended period of time remarkably well, in all honesty. We were utterly useless at Selhurst for an awfully long time and it still took month after month of negative results for the first boos to start ringing out. Pardew was given an...
I said that Roy had turned us into a solid midtable team. As in, if we played a full season with Roy as our manager, we'd finish solidly in midtable.
Unfortunately due to some terrible decision making by our board, our season started a bit later than everyone elses!
As for being below you...
Of course not; but I think that if we can put something resembling a first XI out for those games then we'd go into those games as the favourites.
It isn't the first time that football fans have been totally and utterly wrong, and it won't be the last.
I had just assumed it was an international break, I'd totally forgotten about the FA Cup
While obviously I'd rather have beaten you at the time, with our current injury crisis and only having 1 fit winger I don't think we could have put a team out!
To be anything other than rock bottom after our first 7 games without a single goal or point is simply a testament to what a wonderful job Roy has done.
We've lost twice in 15 games, both times to Arsenal. I don't think we've had a bounce, I think that Roy has turned us into a solid midtable team.
Hopefully Wilf isn't out for more than a month, we've got an international break after the Everton game this weekend which would mean that he'd only...
Unless of course, as looks fairly likely at the moment, Brighton get relegated and Palace finish comfortably in midtable.
I feel like we'd have the bragging rights sewn up.
As someone who has actually watched every Palace game this season, I can assure you that Roy deserves a hell of a lot of credit for turning this side around. Yes, we've got a talented bunch of players. Yes, Zaha would probably keep any PL side in the division by himself. Yes, De Boer was...
We've been trying Bakary up front because we're so desperately short of numbers, but he has never previously been a centre forward at any point in his career. He's a winger.
Sakho has a nearly 1 in 3 goal ratio for West Ham. Considering that Palace's 25 man squad currently has *one* fit striker in Christian Benteke and literally not a single backup option, Sakho will certainly improve our squad if not our first XI.
No Wilf, no Benteke, no Loftus-Cheek, no Milivojevic, no Tomkins. That's without even going into our injury crisis; missing Sakho, Dann, Ward, Wickham, etc.
We were really scraping the barrel to field an XI tonight. We're a side that relies heavily on a few players of significantly higher...
Unfortunately the game isn't played on paper! Our 25 man squad has got ~18 players that are midtable Premier League standard or better. Unfortunately the rest of the names are Championship at best. The likes of Delaney, Hennessey and Souare simply aren't good enough any more, which means that...
