Just got back. The light rules are bizarre. I accept they take a reading and stick to it all test, but it was perfectly light when they went off. Sri Lanka were very clearly not struggling to see the ball, what with them despatching it to the boundary with relative ease.
SL played well today...
Too soon to say. Whilst we've played some lovely stuff and scored good goals, we've been fortunate not to concede nearly as many owing to looking quite shaky at the back.
What gives hope of continued form is that, on paper at least, we are not even close to having put out our strongest team...
My favourite was El Abd constantly winding up Ricky Lambert for Saints; eventually leading to Lambert getting a red after trying to punch him.
It was so obvious from the start that Adam was targeting him and Lambert fell hook line and sinker for it. Marvellous stuff.
If it is a yellow for Rice then Veltman can't really be deemed to be at fault.
Soft, but Rice knew he was on a yellow. Veltman knew what he was doing and outsmarted him
Bowled them out with extra 30 mins and now at lunch. Will we enforce the follow on?
I'd like to see it to show intention to get it wrapped up early and secure the win.
I looks great on paper, but hard to judge as not seen many of them play for us yet. As such a cautious 7.
could be much better in reality, but literally don't know yet!
