I used to frequent a pub in central London after work and was always amazed at the memory of the older gentleman behind the bar.
Place was always rammed and no matter how large the first round, he'd always ask "Same again?" when ordering again. (And he wasn't looking it up on the till either!)...
Yep, used to be be a skill / part of the job for the bar staff to keep tabs on who's next. Dislike pubs where the staff take no responsibility, in reality know and either serve who's nearest them or push it onto the customers to sort out and generally good manners and courtesy are less prevalent...
Unfortunately, prescribing and popping a pill (not just for cholestorol) has all too often become the quick and easy fix* (also see antibiotics, antidepressents, etc) due to a lack of time / support / investment in dealing with the numerous underlying causes :-(

The book I mentioned in post #52 talks to this in detail. The Dr who wrote the book has been treating patients for obesity through surgical procedures for many years and a very high level summary of his view is that in effect starving your body for weeks or months will result in a physical...
I had a similar thought yesterday, like watching a car crash in slow motion, drawn in, unable to look away, then wishing I hadn't seen all the gory detail when all I wanted to know was, is Danny okay? 😳
To lose weight it is about creating a calorie deficit. Personally, exercising at the same time helps, although this can in itslef make you hungrier.
The key is ensuring the food you are eating minimises blood sugar spikes i.e. sufficient protein, fibre, etc which reduces hunger pangs while you...
Love this programme and a have been a huge fan of Bob Mortimer for many years. Caught up on the latest series last week and have really enjoyed it, but felt last nights episode was the poorest by a long way. The weather seemed to dampen the first day, Bob seemed to lose interest in the fishing...
