I saw the bottle flying from 547 but didnt see the thrower. I'd have thought itd be on cctv? - and if the guy was in his seat he can presumably be identified.
I got 45-1 on the Albion win in 90 mins. Incredible odds for a game between two premier league teams in a 2 horse race, even if it is Red Rum vs a Blackpool beach donkey.
You can just imagine the meeting they had over the weekend... "How the hell can we word this so we don't piss off all those who we've sold these dodgy memberships to?"
There are a good number of people with purchase history but no membership, who would buy the tickets if given a chance, but will just watch it on the TV if not. I guess the club have made the decision that they can make more money by flogging the My Albion plus memberships, even though it will...
The screen grab shows that there were literally a couple of inches in it. Well done to all those who saw it as "not even close" and "obvious" you would obviously have done a far better job.
The green kit is awful and I don't buy the argument about the players seeing it against the crowd and not the pitch. Seeing as the kit is worn from the neck downwards and the eyes are generally placed in the head, there is going to be a downward angle often resulting in the shirt being seen...
VAR should only be used when its not about opinions. Offsides are clear with var - there is a yes or no answer. Handballs and fouls are ALWAYS going to be about opinions unless they are clear and obvious, in which case the ref and assistants should see it (Burnley match aside).
On balance -...
Didn't we get the record points total for a February a few years ago? I think it was 9 wins out of 9, probably in League 1 (its pretty unusual to even play 9 games in Feb). Or I may be imagining the whole thing...
I think they are no better or worse than before, its just with the TV replays we now get to see exactly what the decision should have been. Statistically, these things do even up over time - thats how statistics work (with the possible caveat that the big clubs may get a degree of unconcious...
Burnley are absolutely NAILED ON for a penalty today. After last weeks refereeing howler involving Ashley Barnes, and Dyches incesscant whining about Burnley never getting penalties AND the fact that they finally did get one last week invoking the 'London bus' syndrome, that 2 will be along in...
The players obviously hate the camouflage green kit and have presumably asked not to play in it, presumably due to the fact that they are unable to see their team mates.
Perfectly legitimate goal. My take on it - if you watch closely, Balogan kicks the player and then, thinking it might be a pen, nonchelantly walks away forgetting the fact that the ball is still in play and leaving an easy tap in. Bizarre.
