The latter would be my guess, just the same as you see when switching from HD to SD. Hardly surprising as UHD is much better than HD on any platform.

The earlier ones were poor but not any more. Keep up, times and info are moving on. PS I wouldn't have one either but not for that reason.

Yes, I was referring to the newer full state pension in mentioning amounts. The principle is still the same though, state pension gets the personal allowance first, then others until it all allocated, unless you contact them to alter it.

State pension is regarded as income the same as any other income be it another pension or a job. It is treated as the primary source, regardless of any other sources. The reason for this is because it a known amount and will not change over the year so if you do have more than one income the tax...

Blame accountants as well if you want, every company has one as well as millions of individuals. It their job to legally minimise tax liability, they spend years learning and qualifying to achieve this end.
