Absolutely this.
There are 2 teams involved in a game and it is not just us that sets the pattern.
If one team is dominating it may be that they are playing better and going for it (more likely when they are behind) rather than us sitting back.
All the teams you mention are teams with a number of seasons behind them in the Premier League.
It is not about the spending of one season.
Huddersfield and Newcastle are in just as much trouble as us.
Just goes to show how huge the gap between the divisions is.
People seem to forget we are in our first ever season in the premier league and playing against established teams.
We were 2nd favourites for relegation at the start of the season but have not been in the drop zone all season.
Every point we get will be well earned - especially away from home...
No idea why a game that will be crucial isn't already sold out but delighted I will be able to go to my first Premier League away game :)
Tickets for Boro sorted too
Difference between being concerned and calling for CH to go.
Need new attacking signings urgently - CH can only work with what he has and has defied the odds so far.
I think the difference here is that Murray turned down a contract offer (albeit a poor one!) to sign for Palace.
Whereas he left you lot to go to Bournemouth because he was not wanted and then returned to us.
I don't think you lot would have been so charitable had he gone directly from you to...
Considering we ended Sept with no striker signings I think Chris has worked wonders.
I defy anyone to honestly say they wouldn't have taken this position (including style of play etc) at the end of August.
I'm absolutely delighted with the season so far and intend to keep on enjoying it whatever...
-2 goal difference as opposed to -4 goal difference so not the same at all!
I'm sure if we go all out attack for the rest of the season against the top 6 - get smashed and go down on goal difference you'll be happy because it was "fun"!
I won't be happy at all but each to their own!
????
We were 2-0 down at half time and pretty much out of the game by half way. We also ended up losing by 4 which was worse than today.
Today we were still in the game at half time and our goal difference was not harmed as much.
Not making your point at all!
We didn't sit back all game against Liverpool - we created loads and with better finishing could have got back into the game before two late liverpool goals.
You are of course fully entitled to your opinion but I think you are horribly wrong.
No one was talking about negative tactics when we won 3-1 vs West Brom or 3-0 vs West Ham. You need to look at the job he has done over the whole season not just the last few games which were always going to be...
Having a bad run without question but need to keep this in perspective - When the transfer window ended I think everyone would have taken 13th in Dec 3 points above the relegation zone. Given our squad and lack of firepower we have done amazingly so far. We were odds on favourites for relegation...
