He seems to be trying very hard to come across as the 'blunt speaker' but it comes across (to me anyway) as always looking for something negative, regardless of how the match was.
I've always assumed it's him trying to make a mark, hopefully he'll calm it down a bit in time.
Surprising but you can understand the reasoning. He didn't seem to enjoy the run in to the end of the season when the pressure was on and it was only ever going to get worse from here on out.

I'm reading 'Half a King' by Joe Abercrombie. Compared to some of his other books it seems a little light so far, but I guess that's part of being a standalone book when compared to a series.
Prior to this I was re-reading the 'Night Angel' trilogy, by Brent Weeks, for the hundredth or so time.
Once you've had some time with it is there any chance of a little review appearing in this thread please?
I'm toying with the idea of getting one but just need a little prod to justify it to myself...if you report a positive experience that might just do it...
Can't help but feel it's a little bit cheeky to charge everyone else to pay for your meal, you (presumably) chose to arrange it.
In the same situation I think I'd question it as well...except I try to dodge all 'official' office functions as they cause grief somewhere down the line.
