i would sooner rather give the opposition a goal kick than let us have a corner. seriously. we stand a much better chance of winning the ball back and creating something than we do scoring from a corner
i think if the club are looking to buy a new attack minded player, it should be someone who
a) fits into the pocket of space between the central midfielders and the strikers
b) can take a decent corner
c) has the ability to score from range. all the intricate passing and crossing just led...
fairly well established now that the way to beat us is sit back and hit us on the break. how well that goes depends on the quality in attack, which west ham have in spades. everton did it so well, west ham today too. de zerbi hall requires the opposition to press, and once they went one up...
have to say i think rdz has got it wrong with the two up top today. neither have really had a kick, and there’s not enough creativity going on centrally
think it comes down to wages. if west ham were paying him the wages that a top 6 club would, there is no need for a release clause for anything other than footballing reasons. it’s more of an issue with us as we won’t pay the top salaries, so he’d want a way to leave and get that elsewhere
well yes and the logic then was we were backing him because we held onto our best player. which is true. but they’ve gone now, so not replacing them would be negligent, in my view
yes. two now needed. happy to sit and trust that we’ll get them done. but now the manager has said as much, if we don’t get anyone else in, we can’t just look at it and say ‘part of the plan’. he’s been very clear
sorry but this is absolutely shocking
yes this is mike dean and yes he admits it was an error, but i’m willing to wager this is the thought process for a multitude of the shocking decisions we have seen. english refereeing run like an old boys’ club, not good enough
people are often speculating about bigger clubs coming in these days. guess like city did with barco, allegedly. thing is, if they had, i’d imagine we’d have already heard by now. the stories of a club having everything agreed and another swooping in at the last second are well-publicised, but...
this is good news. clarifies what naylor didn’t, the idea of interest isn’t wide of the mark, just the reports about everything being agreed. this is one we can pursue until the end of the window. i mean, how much would they realistically make us ‘overpay’? would it go from £8 million, to £10...
