[Music] Glastonbury Festival 2023 - the thread

I saw the Kinks in 1989 and they weren't great then. I'd shudder to think how they'd be now.

[Albion] Where is Moises going? (Chelsea - 14/08/2023)

Evoking the spirit of @Kosh, Je me vous presente JUDAS PRIEST!! (shout that last bit) and United: Look around They're moving in Hold your ground When they begin We can do it, we can do it And if they want to they can try But they'll never get near Then they can get out of here Gonna keep on...

[Albion] Where is Moises going? (Chelsea - 14/08/2023)

Up north would be my preference. Out of sight out of mind, and at least it's not Arsenal or Chelsea.

[Misc] People you are shocked to know are still alive

Kissinger is the one. I was talking with someone about his book Diplomacy back in 1996, at the time (96) assuming he'd long been brown. Incredible that he's still not 'brown'

[Music] Glastonbury Festival 2023 - the thread

Never understood the appeal of either the Arctic Monkeys or the Foo Fighters. It's just middle of the road nothingness imho. As mentioned above, Billy NoMates is a fantastic talent. Great live

    A lesson learnt Pogue, cheers.

[Albion] Why are we doing this US tour?

We're saving the planet flight by flight, and doing far less damage to the depleted ozone layer than NSC's resident frequent carbon emitting flying narcissist/egotist Herr Tubthumper, let it go. That said, it is an odd one, as we're hardly going to establish 'our brand' in the USA off the back...

    [News] Missing submersible.

This wasn't pushing human boundaries, it was commercial voyeurism, let's not dress it up as something it isn't. For me, odd comparisons to make, and a sky diving chute failure doesn't require a massive, costly, time consuming and risky rescue effort involving countless personnel.

    [Cricket] Shane Warne - RIP

I don't think there's been a bumped RIP thread on here that hasn't had me immediately thinking it was a current event. The Roger Moore or Ronnie Corbett ones could get bumped tomorrow and I'd be thinking the same. (Rushes off to check they are both dead)

    [News] Missing submersible.

A British marine expert said there are many noises underwater, and the 'banging' is potentially unconnected to the submersible.

    [News] Missing submersible.

It's vital the news media keep this as headline news because it's a 'sexy' story, you can just see them scrabbling around for any new angle now matter how tenuous. Meanwhile in Ukraine, Sudan, Somalia...
