As I understood it, the Beeb felt that his commercial enterprises were benefitting him far too much from his tv persona and therefore felt it was a conflict of interests to have him continue on the program.
I agree about Monica. Her face pulling is great for all the wrong reasons.
They may do as I chatted with the owner last night and his reasoning for opening is to offer last minute Xmas day supplies.

Ridiculous scene. Impossible to buy into the dilemma portrayed. Especially the post event 'ticking off back at the station.'
Next worst scene was the free runner sequence, culminating with the 'gay son snog discovery'.
