Yes they have confirmed this, it runs from the original date of installation.

Thanks to everyone who has commented so far. So a bit of an update, the manufacturer has agreed to replace the product and between them, the supplier and myself we have offered an amount towards the fitting, so he can use an alternative installer. This was all agreed with the customer...

    [Finance] Consumer rights

I may be completely wrong here, say I buy a car from a ‘dealer/trader’ (not the manufacturer) and then after 4 years a part breaks which is deemed a manufacturing error, I would not expect the ‘dealer/trader’ to rectify it. My understanding is that after the 12 month mandatory labour warranty is...

    [Finance] Consumer rights

In normal circumstances I’d be willing to help as the dispute is not worth the time or stress. However, the though of having to work for this person again is giving me sleepless nights. Also, should the same thing occur again, am I back at square one?

Thank you, should it get as far as that would they likey just rule we have to do the work for free or would there be huge costs involved.

    [Finance] Consumer rights

Hi all I’m hoping someone can help or point me in the right direction. My small company fitted a product for a customer 4 years ago, we supplied the product which is now faulty. The manufacturer gives a 10 year parts only warranty and they have agreed for a replacement product. The customer...

    [Help] Homeserve - any good?

Like most of the others have said, use your local trades people. These big corporate companies try to screw everyone, local trades like myself and most of the staff on their books.

    [Help] Full body MOT

Thank you all for the replies. Some proper dad jokes in the mix too. The 360 is the one I was looking at, think I’ll go for it. As I said, no major worries but just aware getting to the age where the body doesn’t heel as quickly and hangovers last forever.

    [Help] Full body MOT

I’m thinking of paying for a full body MOT and looking to see if anyone else has done this and think it was worth the cost, Nuffield Health offer one for £700 which looks fairly indepth. No specific reason for wanting it other than getting to late 30s and finding it harder to shake the little...

[Travel] Scotland, west coast and/or islands

We went in October half term, which they said was the last week of the season. Most things open, no midges and roads and sites not very busy. Weather was a mixed bag, but think it’s often like that.

[Film] Film recommendations from this century

Watched this again last night, forgot how good this film is. It wasn’t easy to find but it’s available for free in HD on YouTube with no ads.

    [Finance] Advise with recruitment

No business done in the past, defiantly will not be any in the future. If anyone can recommend someone for the legal side of this, I would be very grateful. With the stress they have caused me, I'd rather spend the cost of their fee making sure they do not get a penny.

Yeah agreed, kind of how we ended up in this situation. Once the guy turned down the offer, they couldn't be any less interested. Then suddenly, get an invoice out of the blue.

    [Finance] Advise with recruitment

Firsthly thanks to everyone who gave some advice on this, especially Commander who kindly took the time to run through it with me. They have now passed this on to a no win no fee type debt collector, if anyone could recommend someone who deals with this type of legal dispute that would be...

    [Finance] Advise with recruitment

Do you think yourself or one of your team may be able to spare some time to go over this with me, I'm happy to pay for any time. The logical side of me says, just it ignore it but they are being fairly persistent and I'd rather just try close the matter. If I'm mistaken pay what is owed and if...

    [Misc] Autism - Neurodiversity

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0bbnjvx Chris Packham has just done a great program on BBC, helping people like autism explain how they feel to family and friends who may not understand.

    [Finance] Advise with recruitment

I have done this and they replied with a copy of the terms but not proof that they sent it as requested. So I have gone back over some older emails they sent with CV’s for other people who were not suitable for us, and there is some T&Cs attached to that. Last one was a year ago. They have...

Thank you. Would you usually get something in writing or signed to say terms are agreed. Also do you have any idea if they are allowed to bump the fee up from 10% to 25% if under dispute or not paid within a certain time frame.

    [Finance] Advise with recruitment

I dont want to be a dick but trying to force me into payment and lying to say I've agreed is pushing me to towards just ignoring the emails.

They called from time to time when they have someone they are looking to place, most likely started as a cold call. My trade its not easy to find pre-trained staff, most people are self employed or work for one of the big nationals.
