Obviously what she did is awful and I'm not letting her off of that at all but she is/was a British citizen and was born in this country. We can't just say "she's not British any more" and leave her to be another country's problem. She is a problem our government needs to deal with, not pass...
And on the pre-registration page it says:

Yes was widely reported when it came in. Mainly as a few EFL clubs used to have loads of towels dotted around the edge of the pitch but players would use the process of getting one as a time waster.
That wasn't in place when all those stupid long Chelsea contracts got signed. It was all those 7 year contracts that made EUFA bring the rule in but it's not been retrospectively applied.
