At the recent Forest Green versus Eastbourne game the referee had a bit of a shocker...booked a player for being run into by an opponent, it definitely wasn't a deliberate obstruction, sadly it was his second yellow so he was sent off...then came a booking for a handball that wasn't, the ball...
This is a difficult question isn't it, asking if a referee has a conscience and worries about the mistakes they have made...a bit like asking if an executioner has sleepless nights thinking about all the lives they have brought to an abrupt end.
Try and find someone who was doing that sort of stuff 5-10 years ago then ask them how they managed to quit, which would be sound advice, though you might find it hard as the majority of them are dead. It sounds like you are working with people who really can help, but the majority of it...
After the events of today and the atmosphere on here immediately after the game and this evening...I propose that this forum is temporarily renamed East Terrace Chat.
Spot on, it is shocking but when the alternative was oblivion it was a no brainer to move to Withdean...however, we are moving to a new stadium next season, which is likely to be second only to the Emirates in the classiness stakes...so, nobody is that bothered about where we are now...the...
Spot on, I choose not to.
I did catch a small amount of the show Sky did, along similar lines...the big difference was that the acts performed their own material and some of them had at least a bit of talent...the lass who won it was brilliant!
I agree with you totally, most players do attempt to avoid a collision with the keeper...for many reasons, not least that they don't want to injure the keeper or themself, but also because historically refs protect the man between the sticks, anything that is near 50:50 will go in favour of the...
Does someone at the FA review match tapes after games, particularly if there has been a controversial incident like this one...if so, that ref and linesman shouldn't be trusted with anything above county standard...the decision was so bad!
I saw that several times and wasn't sure that there was a deliberate kick to the head, their player kept going in the same direction and our keeper was moving towards him...however, he made no attempt to jump or avoid the foot to head collision.
That said, how he didn't get a straight red for...
The ref should have asked the linesman if he was level with the incident, as soon as he said that he wasn't then how could he honestly say whether it was inside or outside the box...that was a truly dreadful decision and it cost us two points.
